Audi vs BMW entry level gas or phev

So my 330e lease is coming to and end in couple of months but rather than wait for last min, thinking this march quarter end could be a good time to swap into a new lease

I have taken a look at BMW marketplace and comparing those to the Audi’s march latest deals on a3/a4, looks like Audi is leasing slightly better (once you include costco) than the 3-series atleast ?

Ideally would love to roll into another comparable 330e but realize it may not be possible at the $450 or so all-in that i am paying rn (from 2021 lease deal, only fees were due at signing)

I know EVs offer the best leases, but my household is full on them atm (own 2 already) and as a matter of diversification maybe want to have the third car as gas / hybrid

My question is – do people think BMW might roll out something to compete w the Audi programs for march/ april or I am better off grabbing the Audi deals now and just pay the last couple of months to BMW FS?

Thank you

PS – There is also the minor question of me having to repair a broken EV charging port flap (for 330e) before lease end, but in my experience rolling into new BMWs in the past they have forgiven such things (atleast the dealers I have dealt with)

You also have the option to extend 1 or 2 months, whichever gets you closer to June end.

Impossible to know the future, ie whether Q1 end or Q2 will be better.

Leases have been trending in a positive direction FWIW.

True, I could extend 2 mos and then wait for June, but in that case I would have to add the cost of the registration fees for DMV for the next year as well, which is due at normal lease end for the following year (cant recall exact figure but it is almost equal to 1 month payment).

But point taken.

How picky are you on the exact car (trim, spec, color, etc)?

Lease support for 2023s still being available in May is iffy at best, so there may soon be some deals to be had on the stragglers still sitting on lots.

Balance that against the cost of doing an early return.

But the essence of your question is essentially market timing, and no one knows.

Not as picky to be honest, that’s why i am thinking of moving this month versus waiting until May

the Audi deals seem better at the moment atleast on 2024s, so i am going to probably have to weigh cost of early bmw lease return versus money saved on an audi lease

ideal scenario would bmw comes out w a good incentive program in april or may but cant wait for that to happen - it may not anyways

Don’t forget to check Private Transfers

Also note that your registration cost concern on a lease extension is absolutely valid, but on a 3-year-old 330e you’re probably looking at… $400 for the renewal in CA?

In the grand scheme, that’s also not a tremendous amount of money (certainly not enough by itself to hinge a decision upon).

Again, balance.

good idea, i hadnt looked at that so far

Definitely go for this advice. Plenty of 2023s available and the end of Quarter definitely helps.
