Been thinking Audi R8 RWD for sometime. Got a new 2022 Rover for the wife with a 2023 model on order. Tired of my wonderful Highlander and need some performance cars back in my life.
I can get 6% off one at the moment.
Residual is strong for 48 months @ 5K miles.
56% Residual

Kemora Gray is the color. Coupe or Convertible has the same programs. Prepaid maintenance makes it attractive.
Or I could settle for the new RS3 as an order. Maryland taxes are killer on an R8.
When I was looking at these during COVID March/2020 I noticed the top of the line had an insane residual at 24 months, I think somewhere in the 80s… Only 4 were available in the country (forgot trim, didn’t matter much since I was deal chasing not car chasing) but dealer wasn’t moving off MSRP.
@AutoCompanion Do you think it will depreciate this much in 4 years? How many more years of production is planned? Being the last V10 Audi Sports car I just can’t see that much depreciation. Probably last non-hybrid Audi Sports car also.

It checks all the right boxes except MT to be a good candidate for a good value holder.
MMR on a 2018 with 20k miles is in the mid 130s. 6 mos ago was 132. To be safe, let’s say 120 in a less insane market. Looks like you’d be into it for about 170. So $50k depreciation plus interest to own it.
I think you’d do better with a Porsche, but this is really not my league at all.
Just for fun, I looked up a 911 GTS. No clue what actual cost would be but I built a very modest one on the website for $150k. MMR on a 2018 with 20k miles is $122k.
Neither. Buy the new C8 Corvette. I drove the R8 (my dream car) and the new C8. Found the C8 to be a much better daily driver. Plus the C8 is quicker and can be had for around $100k including markups depending on your options. That’s what I paid to finance my 2LT convertible a couple weeks ago.
