Hey guys. I just received the following quote on a 2019 Q5 P+. I’m trying to plug it into the calculator but I keep coming up with a lower payment than the dealer is quoting me. Can someone else throw it in their calculator and let me know if it looks right? This is in Ohio with a zip code of 44614. (Sales tax is 5.75)
I know they aren’t offering much of a deal here but I think I can stretch them a bit further.
You should ask them what RV is. I thought it was 51% on 39 months but looks like it might be 50%. I think any of the brokers on LH can get you a better deal, not sure if they do OH though. Ask them about doing 36 months vs 39.
It looks like the residual is 50% for 39months. I was able to get the calculator close. However, I’m having issues communicating with pretty much every dealer I’ve reached out to. They all want me to come in and I just want to communicate via email. They typically only respond once or twice per day and don’t seem to be willing to negotiate much. I’m considering asking to speak to a manager or different salesman.
You should just be dealing with the internet sales manager or a broker. Ask them also the incenetive breakdown. It looks like this is just the regular CostCo deal that anyone can get. Good luck, the Q5 is an awesome ride. I got mine last month, and I’m really enjoying it.
I’ve been dealing with this guy for two weeks now. I started with an SQ5 and I’m realizing that it’s not going to be in my budget without a great deal. So I moved on to the Q5 but they are still at the same 7-8% discount. At least that particular dealership responds to my emails.
These other dealerships will take hours before they finally respond and we never get anywhere in negotiating. It’s like they aren’t pressed to make a deal right now or don’t think I’m a serious customer.
What is your budget? The net net is you’re at a sub 10% discount out of the gate so it’s no bueno regardless of the calculator. Instead of trying to match up with the dealer, get residual and MF for the trim and term you want and build out your own deal. Then you can just tell the dealers what you need them to be at. If the numbers are unrealistic we can help you.
I’ve told them I need to be at $47000 on a Q5 with a $54k+ msrp. Nothing working for me quite yet. Would you mind sharing with me the deal that you got on your vehicle?
I’ve researched the MF and residual amounts as well. 39 months offers the lowest rate at this time.
Ok but at a $47k sales price what would your monthly be? Based on the residual, assuming base MF and the term plus your tax rate. Build it in the calc.
Also your personal info is on that lease sheet photo, you may want to edit it.
At a 47k sale price, I’m within budget and happy with the deal If they were to accept.
Current dealer (who is actually communicating with me) is at 8% and not willing to move without me providing him an offer from an opposing dealer or for me to physically come to the dealership.
My suggestion to you would be to tell this dealer if they want you to go shop around and another dealer meets the need, you will have lost the business. If they can’t do the deal currently the way you need it, no hard feelings have a nice day. They know exactly how deep they can go here, the rest is just meant to spin your wheels and convince you you can’t do better.
Here is what I’m at today. 9.5%. Hoping to either get more for my trade or get them to come up a little. I’m going to test drive next week. I have a loaner x3 m40 at 14% off as well that I’m going to try and use as collateral for these guys to make a deal.
I’m going to try. I had another dealer unable to match the 9.5. If they give me $1500 over carvana on my trade then I’ll make it work. If not, I’ll be walking. I’m torn on the Q5 and the X3 M40 though. How do you like your Q5?
I don’t think it’s fair to compare an X3 M40 to a Q5. I’m coming from a 335i and feel like the Q5 has enough power but it’s not a sports sedan either. The Q5 is more quiet and absorbs bumps better than my wife’s Lexus NX. Q5 is a great daily driver but I wouldn’t consider it an exciting SUV. Look at the SQ5 if you really want to feel power.
