Audi Q5 or Lexus RX350

Hi all, trying to decide between a Audi Q5 vs Lexus RX 350 lease. I know they may not play in the same exact space, but we ended up liking both of them as we both of them of some pros that weighed in favor of them. I know this ultimately will be a personal choice. But from a financial sense, I will be spending $1000 more on Lexus than Audi over 27 months. Currently have an Audi, so I am getting an Audi lease cheaper. But I was told by the Lexus guys that when you add up the cost of tire replacement for Audi Q5 it will be a wash.

Again, I know its a personal choice, just wondering spending the extra $1,000 makes sense. I am prepared to receive snarky comments…

What kind of prices are you actually looking at for the two vehicles? I would expect the rx350 to be cheaper than a q5.

Also, why would a q5 require so much more in tires and why would the Lexus guy know that. Seems much more likely that he is feeding you a line.

Surprised that the Audi lease would be lower than the Lexus…yes, different style SUV’s- but my preference would be the Q5, especially at a lower cost. Good luck with your decision!

If the Audi is cheaper, you’re getting an awful deal on the Lexus

Should have mentioned, Lexus dealer is willing to include about $780 for my last lease payment and disposition fee. with that the difference would be like $200-$300, even then Lexus pricing is a little higher, probably should negotiate a little harder . Both of them are Price at $47K. But the true cost difference to me over 27 months is still $1000. What I was told is that tire replacement may be about $600, which is not needed for lexus as I will be returning it is 27 months.

You are talking very little money over term of lease. Don’t worry about it. Get what you wife wants and be happy.

:grinning: That’s where I am leaning…

What’s the monthly lease payment you’re looking at for each?

@Blooski

I currently have a negotiated 2019 Lexus RX 350 AWD @ 370 monthly 0 DAS since Friday.

Best Comparable Q5 offer I had was 479 same terms 1400 DAS not rolling the tax and fees in because the money factor is high.

Lexus wins with December incentives financially.

Very few cars beat the driving experience of a Q5 - it is just a whole another class of car.

Who cares what the MSRP is? By evading the question on how much you’re paying to lease them and just repeating the $1,000 delta, you’re wasting everyone’s time.

Wow that’s darn cheap for 2019 rx350 awd with 0 DAS. What state are you in?

I will go with q5 for better driving experience.
I had RX350 leased and never like the way they drove like a Vanilla. Q5 and X5 is the way to go. Don’t get why you be changing Tires on q5. They normally last 36k easily or you planning driving off road a lot.

i don’t like these deals where the dealer is covering last X number of payments unless the money is coming directly from the manufacturer. In your case there’s probably extra 1K of discount you are missing on the Lexus. Can you just drive your Audi 3 more months or use pull ahead and get the Q5.

Dealer is a Marlyand dealer.

Lexus is throwing 5500 lease cash at their 2019 RX 350s plus a pre-incentives negotiated 14.5% markdown

Jon is this @ my post or the OPs?

I was confused with your post and the OP’s statement. Your offers further proves that the OP is getting an awful deal on the RX. It shouldn’t be more expensive than the Q5.

@Blooski can you post your numbers for both units? Also on the 27mo Lexus lease you’re paying registration for only 3 mo of use.

@Jon
No worries I’m just trying to earn my trusted Hackr badge like you haha.

@Blooski what area are you in.

My deal is replicable at 2 dealerships within miles of each other and they have similar priced models in different colors. It makes a few cents difference.

Went for Q5. Probably would have gotten better deal on 2019 RX 350, wanted 2020 for Apple Car Play. Happy with the price got after talking to 3 dealers.

Good choice, Q5 is a nice car and now you can tune it :grinning:
