Audi Q5 2.0T quattro S Tech Premium Plus Lease / Foreign Business Professional Program

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently moved to the US and I am about to lease a car. Having no credit history yet, will be applying to Audi’s Foreign Business Professional Program as I’d like to try Q5.

I am looking at 36 month lease, 15K mileage on annual basis in NJ.

So here are the two offers I’ve got for 2018 Audi Q5 2.0T quattro S Tronic Tech Premium Plus

  1. Dealership
    MSRP 44,100
    Premium Plus Package : 2700
    Audi Beam-Rings : 250
    Destination Fee : 975
    Total : 48,025

The first lease prices was 27424 and after negotiation, it went down to 23996. The breakdown is
s
Case Due at delivery 4396

Breakdown of cash due

$658 - 1st monthly payment
$371 - Registration
$895 - Audi Acquisition fee
$498 - doc
$1,785.50 - Tax
$7.50 - Tire tax
$181.54 - Titling fee

The residual is 25,933.50
Monthly : 560 *35 (First months pay is in down payment)

  1. Dealership

MSRP 44,100
Premium Plus Package : 2700
19’’ wheel package 800
Cold Weather Package : 500
Cargo-cover :250
Audi Beam-Rings : 250
Destination Fee : 975
Total : 49,550

I have not started the negotiation yet and the offer is

Cash due : 3800
Monthly : 560 *36

Total Lease cost is 23960

The residual value is 26,757

Breakdown of cash due was not given in details but it is taxes, 3 year registration & first month’s payment.

Disposition Fee : 495

Now, there is a fact that I’ve given a deposit to the 1st dealership which is 500 bucks and this is non-refundable. Obviously, 2nd dealership is offering a better price considering the fact that we have not negotiated the price yet.

They also offer Complimentary Audi Care(3 year pre-paid) Maintenance ( Not sure if it is already not coming with the warranty though)

I feel like I was dumbed and am thinking to give up the deposit and negotiate with the 2.dealership try to take the total cost down to somewhere around 21000.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks a lot !

Ok, lots of information in your post to try and understand. I don’t see any information on the discounts involved though. Key numbers are MSRP, Sales price, Residual and MF (Interest rate) and looks like you only listed some of that.

Q5’s discounts will be minimal but you should look at 10% off MSRP as an achievable target, but you’ll probably need to be flexible on the exact vehicle you want. In your situation I would seek out a reputable broker like @nyclife as navigating this yourself having just moved here is unlikely to see you getting a good deal. My wife and I moved to the US last year and using a broker until you know the market or have more time makes sense.

Thanks Alex. I will keep this in mind !

I should have mentioned it specifically but the broker will be able to quickly help you with the deposit situation. The deposit doesn’t mean you have to take the car straight away (which gives you/broker time to check elsewhere), and the dealer holding the deposit would much rather they sold you a vehicle as they’ll make more money that way so don’t feel you’re forced into taking it. Losing $500 is ok if you’re saving $2k on another lease.

Deal in Nj for 36/10k any good?
MSRP=50430(premium+, tech, convenience, cold weather, 19inch wheels, metallic paint, Audi rings, all Weather mats, cargo cover)
Negotiated = 42500
RV=56
MF=.00165
Monthly payment incl taxes =516
Drive off fees= $2,287 total due at signing. The amount due at signing consists of $0.00 down payment, $895.00 lease acquisition fee, $7.50 New Jersey tire tax , $371.00 license fee, $498.00 dealer documentary fee, and $516 first month’s

What dealer? We are looking for my wife and have gotten 625.00 x 36 x 10k with a 625.00 drive off. This on a 52k car.

Thats a pretty good price. My deal was similar except my payment was $550/month with $1500 in drive offs.

According to edmunds 36/10k residual is 57% for tech P+ and 56% for regular P+ at 0.00165 MF

Oh thats great. Anyway you can put in a word for me lol. I just need a Q5 with mmi, navi heated package and sunroof and im happy. Been looking few months now.

Hi,

I wanted to share the final figures with you and couple of suggestions as I’ve leased one yesterday from Audi Meadowlands.

560 *36 + Cash due at signing 4396( tax, registration, licence , doc fees) for 15K mileage.

I bought Audi Care which was additional USD 28 a month 36 so ended up with 58836.

The figures are not the best as this was under Foreign Business Professional Program ( I am sure it could be better with a good credit score)

I know Town Audi offers complimentary Audi Care for years on the new vehicles (this is around USD 870 for 36 months). They also offer slightly better prices comparing to Meadowlands but I did not have time to switch the dealership as I had to get the car yesterday…

The car is Ibis white with beige interior and I must say it surely feels great inside !

Thats a pretty good deal I must say especially with 15k miles good job.

Im looking to put 3-4k down give them my 2007 jetta and pay about 415 a month lol. Hoping to get a deal around there

Well, I could have had it better if I went to Town Audi. They dropped the price down to 545*36 with 3800 cash due at signing for 15K and the car had 19” wheels + cargo cover on top of what I have. Try them if it is close by.

Good luck with the deal !

Congrats, that’s a decent deal for an expat, 15k miles and Audi care. Glad you got it all worked out

Definitely better than a lot of the other expat options I was offered, and you got to choose the vehicle too.

Thank you. Good to hear from someone else that it’s a decent deal, not terrible

Thanks for your input
