Hey folks, I have a Audi lease that I’d like to transfer to a family member. I haven’t checked with AFS yet but is this even possible?
Considering the new person taking over the lease is qualified, what should I be aware of?
From seeing other posts on here about AFS doesn’t really do full lease transfer, what does that mean to credit report? If AFS is successfully able to “transfer” lease, will my credit report still show that I have this Audi lease?
The original lessee is still responsible even though the lease has transferred. In the event of late payments, defaults, etc., you’ll still be on the hook.
So in other words, if my credit is checked this Audi will still show up as if I am still the owner of the original lease contract?
Yes, it will still show up on your credit report.
I would not recommend it.
If you need to get rid of it, why not sell it to an Audi dealer near you. This way, it will be off your credit report.
