Audi FS MSDs Return + Dealership Payoff

Anyone sold a AFS Audi lease to dealer- ie either Audi or 3rd party- and gotten their MSDs back?

I just got off the phone with AFS associate- who didn’t know what MSDs were. When I told him, he said please hold. He came back and said that if I sold to 3rd party- I would lose my $4500 MSDs, but at Audi dealership they had several options on how to handle this on whether they wanted to return them. I really don’t think he knew what he was saying since he had to ask.

And of note when asked- they said Audi dealership payoff is different from other dealership and that transferring MSDs from 1 AFS car to another is NOT something AFS does, but the dealership can work with you and put their $ in- doubtful so congrats @navidg.

not a dealer but pretty sure your MSDs are backed off your Pay off. meaning your payoff subtracts your deposit already.

They either refund them after payoff or knock it off the payoff, either way they aren’t keeping them. I would think a detailed payoff quote would show that

curious if the dealer payoff quote includes/excludes the MSD.

Having done several of these since my original post. Dealership buy out is separate. Once your Audi vehicle is paid off and grounded, AFS will send back MSDs in ~ 5 weeks.
