Thoughts?
Did you confirm rv/mf/lack of incentives with edmunds?
Yes, purchase price includes $4000 in dealer cash (or marketing allowance, the terminology in that forum seems to alternate)
Aim for at least 10% pre-incentive, any dealer can give you the $4k and the current offer is nothing special. Consider MSDs if you can swing a little extra out of pocket.
Isn’t that basically what I’m getting? 10% of 60k is 6k + 4k of incentive = 10k, I’m looking at 9.5k
Or are you saying 10k pre incentive for a total off MSRP of 14k?
You’re just shy of it but my point is, that should be your baseline. I would shop around knowing you have the $4k in dealer cash and see how much farther you go. Ask for 15% and see how much more you can get them up, or in another offer.
You should probably update your LH calculator to reflect that incentive.
I just included it in the purchase price in the calculator. Didn’t see any difference when putting it as a non-taxed discount
By separating the dealer discount and incentives, folks evaluating your deal will be able to determine whether you are getting a good deal or not.
It also helps others looking at a similar deal to compare the percent off MSRP you are getting pre-incentives.
Here is the updated calculator, listing the $4k as incentives instead of including it in the sale price: leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Audi&miles=15000&msd=0&msrp=59890&sales_price=54300&months=36&mf=.00136&dp=0&dealer_fee=504&acq_fee=895&taxed_inc=4000&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=53®_fee=170&sales_tax=6.25&demo_mileage=0&memo=Updated%20calc%20by%20separating%20%244k%20in%20incentives%20from%20price.&monthlyTax_radio=true
EDIT: Less than 10% off MSRP on an outgoing model is not that great of a deal. As someone posted earlier, I would shoot for 15% off (pre- incentives) and see where that lands you. IMO, at least 13% off on the S5 would be a good deal.
Of course 15% would even be better, but you need to find a motivated dealer/sales person/internet manager looking to hit their end of month numbers.
Good luck and keep us posted.
