I am attempting to lease a 2017 Charger Scat Pack or Daytona and keep running into trouble when negotiating over email and phone.
Example: Found a Daytona 392 in CT, MSRP 51020, Sale price 44700 through a 6300 dealer discount. Talk to the sales guy on the phone, say I have Affiliate pricing and USAA rebate. He comes “runs the numbers” and comes back with 47k sale price and a lease of 3k down and 530/month with Tier1 credit.
I am trying to be forthcoming with information to save the hassle and time but it is not working out. Any advice?
You need to get a breakdown of the entire deal and where that 3k is going towards. Also, you need to make sure they are applying the full USAA rebate AFTER they give you the dealer selling price with the dealer discount.
Don’t forget to let us know the lease details such as months and mileage. I’m also in MA and want to get into either a Challenger or Charger for my next lease. From what I’ve seen, dealers are less willing to deal with the Charger than they are with the Challenger.
this is for a 36/10k lease. the numbers are so far off that it doesn’t even make sense to haggle when they are giving me a price that is higher than what is posted online without rebates. I guess i’ll try just getting a price without mentioning any rebates or affiliate pricing and mention the price that i see online and see if that is valid and go from there.
You should still try - just give them your breakdown on what you expect: their sale price minus Affiliate minus USAA minus another $1-2K for good measure.
How much is the USAA rebate? Chances are they are inflating numerous parts of the lease to make as much profit as possible. It’s not unheard of where a dealership will try to make as much profit as possible with their first offer. Luckily, you are informed and can do your research on what is an adequate selling price BEFORE any rebates are applied.
Ok, so those rebates should be added after their best selling price of the vehicle. I believe the Daytona 5.7L has a chunk of change (around 4500) in lease cash if you lease through another bank that is not Chrysler financial. The scat pack and Daytona 6.4L will be much more expensive to lease because of this. That 4500 would be deducted from the sale price as well if you go with another leasing institute such as USBank.
Also if you got that 6300 dealer discount from their website, take it with a grain of salt. Usually thosae “dealer discounts” are all the factory rebates please maybe an actual dealer discount (which might be as little as 500 bucks). They usually advertise a large discount like that which includes military, recent college grad and every other rebate out there when you actually don’t qualify for all of them.
Yes it does appear that it is what they are doing. I think i’ll just need to wait until the IDL cash comes back like it was last year and in January. Seems that the awesome deals people were getting on Scat Packs was with the IDL cash, without it there is no urgency to do anything especially since I already have a very nice car that I currently drive.
Yea, without the IDL these are going to lease pretty badly. It is better to hold out. I either want to get into a Scat Pack for my next lease or a Camaro (if a miracle happens and these start leasing well!). I got about a year left on my lease so I am in no rush. Hopefully that IDL cash comes back!
I doubt they can. That 4500 is huge in a 36 month lease (a little over 100 bucks a month. The money factor from Chrysler Financial isn’t great and the residuals on the chargers aren’t any better. That is why I am leaning towards the Challenger. The residuals tend to be much higher and dealers are willing to give bigger discounts up here in New England (2 doors, 500hp and RWD don’t fly out of dealerships in snowy climates).
Sorry to hijack this thread hoping I can get some input. I found a charger Daytona 392 in my area, MSRP $48000. The dealer is currently offering an discount for $10k off sticker bringing the price down to $38000… the problem is dealer will not offer this discount for leasing, purchase only, wouldn’t elaborate why. My question is, should I consider purchasing? 10k off is a considerable amount. Thanks for any input
I got a brand new ScatPack, fully loaded with every option. Chrysler employee discount. $500 down, $400 month. 12K/24month lease. Buyout at end of lease is 28K.
My salesman was Cooper at Golling Fiat Chrysler in Bloomfield Hills MI.
I ordered the car. It took 6 weeks to arrive. I absolutely love it. I’m seriously madly in love with the car. Its faster than all hell and a absolute blast to drive. Rides well too.
