Figured if anyone knows the answer to this, it will be here! I am looking at another BMW lease that I wanted to assume but the lease is an employee lease. The owner said he may not be able to transfer it and he has to find out tomorrow. I read some conflicting things online about being able to assume an employee lease. Happy to jump through hoops for this deal so if there’s some way to make this work or someone he has to talk to so they can green light it, I’d love to know. Thanks!
I believe so, as I was trying to assume one last year but it fell through for unrelated reasons - @wam22 might be able to chime in here with a more definitive reply
As far as I know it is not possible. When you sign the agreement form, there is a clause that says you can only transfer it to another employee who is eligible for the program. With that said, BMW FS is the one to give the final say. I wouldn’t even mention it was an employee lease to them and say here is the VIN/account info, can I transfer it.
Thank you! I also figured there has to be something in the terms that you can transfer it if it’s a hardship thing, I’d be surprised if they said too bad.
Never saw a hardship resolution that in there. The solution is to just sell it if that is the case.
This was three or four years ago now, but I did assume a BMW employee lease. Their policy may have changed since then however.
Apparantly it did, can’t do it, sadly.
