Driving more people to Leasehacker!
This was the one from today. Sounds like a stage 5 clinger. I literally bypass any car i see on Cargurus coming out of N Ohlmstead… i do watch some of the vids for entertainment purposes though
Yeah same, some of the quotes he mentions in the vids as amazing deals are hilarious.
Lmao he hates you. Funny thing is all the other VW sales and other sales guys talking shit about LH ![]()
Talking like a GM who still thinks it’s 2022 lol
This is funny - hahaha - that means all these GM’s are watching this site like a hawk.
These GM’s can move serious volume through here with less labor cost relative to the normal sales funnel.
I guess maximizing profits on each unit is more important
Benzbowties is a GM you have to get face to face and really get his blood pressure up to get a deal @djrabbi
Maybe I’m alone on this but I feel like if you run a successful car store, like he does and you give away how the sausage is made, you hurt your brand and image some.
Anyone actually active on LH recently who would mention being a user of this site to Doug’s team should know contacting North Olmsted is only for the memes. Even @Bumboola can’t score a deal from Doug. So, the normal user here has zero chance.
My guess is Doug’s fishing for content so he had his rep come in faking a LH lead. This lets Doug take some freebie potshots for his reel. Doug could have really posted this this reel months ago when we know actual people were flooding his sales funnel begging for deals. The G580 Diamond incentive was actually a thing, and @djrabbi had some $1,400 monthly G580 Elead sheets. Plus @schyulerw just posted about signing a deal with Doug.
A random reel coming out in October is a weak attempt for him to drive some views.
Actually these two have really changed the game and how a dealership approachs consumers by being “transparent” (or pretending to be) about some of the things they do for their job. It’s bringing in A LOT of volume (when done right)
The problem is that there isn’t a ton of competition in Ohio. In Southern California there is a Mercedes dealer every block and they have to compete with each other- think something like 40 within 100 miles of LA, which is why 11% off is normal on most mainstream models. In Ohio, there are maybe 5 in the entire state. When Doug says his deal is their “best price upfront” what he really means is that he knows full well that 6% is the most he has to discount because you aren’t going to drive 3 hours to negotiate with a another small dealer in BFE for 7% who needs to hold gross because they sell 15 cars per month.
15-20% of the mercs sold are in CA alone
George and the J&S team run a good channel. They know the money is in the buy and make sure to have the right spread based on market. They will occasionally overpay for “god-spec” vehicles that have the right combination of options, but otherwise they make their buyer’s fair offers based on their margin goals.
They seem to get a lot of the tiktok crowd who want to be filmed and will buy a car for probably more than they could secure it elsewhere just to buy from George.
They also buy lots of accident cars lol - it’s a quick flip operation- make some money on backend. The YouTube channel has helped them -
Benz bow ties may be doing the principals a disservice- building a personal brand that may not be congruent with ownership objectives
My hunch is Benzbowties will be let go soon by North Olmsted.
