Anyone lease a Cadillac by chance? CT4 CT5

Have to replace an expiring BMW lease and the lease environment looks like crap so was perusing my local Cadillac dealer and saw a nice CT5 premium luxury with a $56k sticker. Of course most will say that these do not lease well which may be true but I do have a current GMC lease and my son works at GM so can get a special code so maybe its worth considering. I have not run numbers yet but wanted to get the visceral reaction from the board  )

And yes I expect big pushback but figured WTH, let’s hear what the hackers have to say…

Look at Alfa?

Why grab an alfa at minimal discount / msrp when he can get the car he wants @ gm employee pricing?

OP i’d get the gm employee pricing (find a dealer willing to accept it) & finance it

Might be worth a look at the Alfa. Of course would have to see if the wife has an interest as well. Not looking to keep a car (Alfa or Caddy) so not really interested in a purchase.

Why not finance 84 mo and hop out of it in a couple years? The Leasehackr calculator now has a lease vs finance price comparison.

Could be worth it since you can transfer them in state and ride this all out.

It’s going to disappoint you compared to a BMW though.

Yeah I think the change from a 5 series (M package) to a CT5 will be a disappointment. I’m not sold on anything at this point and we have another vehicle so there’s a strong possibility I turn in the BMW and wait a few months. Thanks for the ideas.

The Luxury market is slowly softening. I bet you can score something decent in late December if you can wait that long.

-I haven’t seen the CT5, but was NOT impressed with the interior and in-car-entertainment of the CT4 for the price point

-Once the insanity is over, the Alfas will continue to depreciate like a rock

-5 Series is up for redesign, assuming the luxury market keeps softening, there should be deals on the 5.

I’d wait until the end of the year if you can, but potentially score a bigger discount on better inventory options. Brokers are already posting 6%+ discounts on BMWs, etc. With improving supply and an uncertain economy I can’t see prices going up unless there’s another extraordinary event.

Hey thanks for that info, my feeling as well regarding pricing. And yes, I can wait a few months and with any luck possibly get BMW to extend my lease for a month or two (making the wait easier). I have not looked at a C5 yet but agree that GM interiors can leave a lot to be desired especially at a 56k price point. My wife likes our 5 series so if something is coming soon, that might be the plan.

Depends on the models. My CTS Vsport was vastly superior to my 330xi in every way. Stickers weren’t far off when similarly equipped, either.

BMW will let you extend two months , no questions asked .

Why not buy out your expiring BMW lease and keep the car for a couple of years, or until the market normalizes?

Thought about buying it out (have really low miles too) but my personal feeling is that it will depreciate more than to what I’ll pay extra in a new lease. Or it will be a wash. At least I’ll have a new car and warranty. Fair bet that if the CT5 doesn’t do it for me, I’ll turn the 5 in and wait.
