I know this is a stupid question, but incentives are about to switch over, and my parents fell in love with a GLCe. Right now the calculator is telling me there isnt much from the manufacturer ($1500), but the money factor isnt bad (0.00091 / 2.18%). Thanks for any help.
You can also get $2000 off from conquest in you qualify
Incentives aren’t released ahead of time if that’s what you’re asking? We have no idea if it gets better or worse next month. As you can imagine the system is designed that way.
thanks for bringing that up, unfortunately while they do have an older lexus and bmw, they are super old.
I figured, just didn’t know if there was any scuttlebutt.
Sorry to bombard the forums today, but looked up a rate on a 2026 GLC 350e here in CA central coast and it’s showing me 0.00091 but the dealer is saying it’s 0.00131. Confirmed top tier credit. Also claiming the INCENTIVES BONUS CASH (MBFS LEASE) of $1500 doesn’t exist. Any help greatly appreciated.
They’re marking up the interest rate 40bps, the odds of it being off by exactly 1% is very unlikely.
Been negotiating on a glc haven’t heard anyone say that the base mf is wrong. I think there is also extra lease cash available only on dealers side cause on some quotes it was upto 3500 lease cash but maybe im wrong
Top tier credit doesn’t mean you are entitled to the base rate, it means you’re eligible for it should the dealer choose to offer it. A dealer is allowed to mark up the rate 40 basis points on Mercedes.
That’s odd on the incentive in that they won’t apply it. A number of brokers represent Mercedes in CA, are you certain they aren’t offering a better deal even with a broker fee?
Thanks for the support! My parents really like this car and my dad is 80 so I think they are trying to take them to the cleaners. Rate Finder shows the 1500 incentive that the dealer is denying exists and 2000 for conquest which my parents won’t qualify for (Lexus and BMW in household but too old), which would align with that 3500.
They aren’t anywhere even close to that. We are sitting $2400 off MSRP and the 1% markup on the lease. It’s unfortunate, my parents want the car, and “he’s a really nice guy” so they want to buy from him. At this point I would go for the $2400 + $1500 @ .00091 + MSD discount because I cannot find a GLCe 350 4matic configured like this anywhere else (trailer hitch is required), but I’m not spending $15k extra because he was willing to sweet talk my senior citizen parents.
Honestly, you’re kind of the ideal customer for them right now. They have the exact configuration you want, and if you’re set on that spec and that store, they know there’s limited pressure to discount further. Have you considered expanding your search outside your state? Is your dealer in walnut creek?
Yeah my local is Walnut Creek or Pleasanton. I dont really have experience with either. I’m worried if I have to put in an order does the new dealership do the exact same thing on the backend.
Oh, gawd, bad memories of my dad (almost 80) one month ago buying a GLC300 w/ NO research whatsoever b/c his (now last) GLC was making a really weird noise, and he didn’t think he had time to take it the service station to see what was wrong….
At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter what they’re doing on the backend. Any dealership can mark up the MF within their allowed range that’s normal. What matters is the final payment and overall structure you’re agreeing to.nIf you’re getting the exact car you want at a number you’re comfortable with, that’s what counts. That said, if you don’t have the time to shop around or negotiate harder, you might consider hiring a broker they can get a dealer to order the exact build you want with a stronger discount than the $2,400 you’re currently seeing.
Thanks for all the advice. I guess I didn’t realize brokers would help with orders. I thought they only worked with cars on the lot.
There’s two things working against you:
- Your parents are in love with this specific GLC. It’s exceedingly rare for that to happen (this might be the first time ever), but if so, every other alternative you give will be scrutinized.
- Your parents are in love with this salesman. This happens more commonly, and is an even more powerful draw.
Based on that, unless you have a direct financial involvement here, I’d just tell them to enjoy the car and let them be.
We have reps here from Both MB Walnut Creek and Pleasanton. Unfortunately since you’ve already started working with someone in WC, that’s that. But you can try checking with @oarfish18
For Pleasanton, try @MBmike
Good luck. Tough market you’re in
(that’s why I rarely shop in the Bay Area)
Or be a good son and low key freeze their credit ![]()
