How about putting a deposit for a PHEV Lexus TX?

Do you know what check engine light code it’s throwing.
Im amazed how many dealers try to address a p0e15 code with a coolant pump swap.
They haven’t shown me and my wife last took it in. However they directly tested the pump multiple times, they’re not just going off of a code.
Do they keep replacing pumps and they keep failing?
First time. I’ve read the thread on the Pacifica forums where the poster drove 100 miles in the new pump and ended up by the side of the road, though.
We are in the exact same situation - 2019 Pacifica PHEV that has been in the shop 5 times over the past 2 months, all work covered by warranty, the last time left the car stranded. It’s been fixed but not super confident in their ability to fix these.
We drove the CX90 PHEV today coincidentally and its great as a car and would lease really favorably, but minivan to 3 row SUV is a huge loss of practicality with 3 kids, and it would probably be a struggle to move to it - even a grocery pickup with all 3 kids in the car would be pretty difficult with the space. So the options really are limited. We are probably doing what others have suggested in either leasing a new Pacifica as a holdover til the nicer options come out in 1 or 2 years or rolling the dice and keeping the current one. The problem with keeping the current one is that the value is still very high so I’d hate to keep it and lose out on (potentially) a lot of equity.
We decided to keep it, and just completed a 700 mile trip with no problems.
At this point… you’d probably be better off with a minivan from Toyota, Honda or Kia.
If they ever made a Sienna Prime… I’d probably try it.
we have a similar requirement list. I’m wondering what you settled for.
So far, kept the Pacifica PHEV. Things we tried:
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: not a real 7 seater
Mazda CX90: crap at being a PHEV, jerky, unpleasant drive
Kia Sorento PHEV: totally inadequate rear ventilation, somehow they made a plug-in have a hideous acceleration lag
Volvo XC90: our top choice so far but need the incredibly expensive Ultimate trim to match the features on our 2018 Pacifica. Will never be as comfortable as a minivan. Worse cargo space, worse visibility, etc.
The Pacifica’s hybrid warranty runs through August 2028. It has never stranded us. Our service advisor at the local CDJR is excellent. So while the occasional mystery errors are frustrating, we are $0 out of pocket on them. And when I read the CX90 forums I feel like going and deep cleaning the Pacifica so we appreciate it more.
In a similar boat, we keep coming back to the Volvo XC90. Best 3rd row, safety, comfort (subjective) for its size without going to the larger SUVs or minivan.
To add, we went to look at the Mazda CX90 and the salesman had worked at their dealership brands Volvo store before and he talked us out of the Mazda and stick with the Volvo.
The Volvo is really over priced, though. It’s impossible to justify except for the select few who can stack loyalty, A plan, MSD, etc.
Did you look at EV9? It’s our top dog if we pull the trigger on a 3-rower.
We went from a Sienna hybrid to the Pacifica PHEV a year and a half ago and couldn’t be happier. It’s had less problems than the Sienna believe it or not.
Granted the Pacifica is a 2022 and it’s been giving us the “Uconnect Box Needs Service” message for awhile. Now I think I may not want to take it in for a software refresh.
True but that’s most brand deals on the site if people want to maximize savings and minimize payments. The Volvo Ultimate trim that OP mentioned is not worth it IMO, a lot of the features are nice to haves. The Plus trim is a good balance.
The wife-preferred Amber leather is only on Ultimate. So are window shades…and unlike the Pacifica, the XC90 doesn’t have third row shades.
That’s some of what I was referring to, we love the amber color but not paying $5-10K more for a color and for window shades, those can be obtained from online, work the same way. I know it’s personal preference and what one values but to us they didn’t mean much to spend the extra amount.
You don’t buy a volvo for luxury. For the same money the GLE is better in almost every way.
The plus is the best deal in volvo world, after all you are only getting it for safety
GLE doesn’t have a third row as a PHEV
Ahhh
Who else makes a 3rd row PHEV?
