In need of a new desktop. Preferable minimums of an i7 processor, 16 gigs mem, 1TB drive, geforce 30 or 40 series graphics card. Was looking at the Alienware Aurora for $1350. Looks pretty solid, plus $100 statement credit if using my Amex. And no, I do not have the time or the patience to build my own lol. Definitely open to suggestions. Let me know what you guys think.

$1250 net for the Aurora is solid. Do you have a Microcenter near you? You can catch an amazing deal from time to time there.
Lol I had to edit the title immediately after I realized how questionable it looked. I do not unfortunately, closest one to me is 4 hours away
…and $1,350? It’s not gaming, so why can’t you get something for less? You don’t need graphics card/fancy graphics card for “normal” tasks.

I’d prob be ok with 8. Occasional gaming for the kids. Would prefer to up the minimums a bit just so I don’t have to upgrade as often
8gb will not be able to do anything on Win 11. Get 32gb and either built-in graphics or a cheap graphics card.

i7 with integrated graphics, 16x1 or ideally 32x1. Buy in Amex or a CC that extends the warranty

Do you have the monitor for this? Gaming on PC requires 120hz plus for FPS, and I don’t like anything under 165 for normal activities anymore.
If you’re not playing full blown games I’d skip the dGPU.
And if you have Amex Plat business, you get $200 twice a year at Dell.

I have a laptop and working on an SFF build. Shoot me a DM if you want my thoughts or advice if you want to build a full blown rig. I think I’ve built one for another LH, I forgot his handle but he brought his kid and the parts to hersheypark and I helped them build it lol.

Pro Tip: don’t get a curved one. My 32’ Samsung curved monitor is now a second bedroom TV for watching at a different angle. I still go back to my 27" 4k Samsung for PC stuff but not my primary monitor.
And you want to connect it with Display Port (the big-boy connector) not HDMI. The Dell’s support that. I have an Optiplex Mini with an i7 for those instances where I can’t emulate.
