The mileage isn’t negotiated with the dealer, it’s set by the captive bank via the RV. Typically, jumping from 7500 to 10000 miles equates to a decrease in RV, thus increasing price. You can, of course, make an offer to a dealer on the mileage you want.

If you’re talking about the pre-negotiated or broker posted deals, No, they will not give you the same monthly & DAS for a 10k mileage deal that is posted as a 7.5k deal. They will give you the same dealer discount, fees, rebates, etc, but they will adjust the RV accordingly.

Compare Both Options Get quotes for 7.5k vs 10k miles annually, keeping all other terms identical. Calculate the monthly payment difference.

Know Your Excess Mileage Costs Manufacturers charge $0.10-$0.30 per excess mile (Nissan: $0.10/mile).

Do the Math

  • Option A: Higher mileage lease (10k miles) = higher monthly payment

  • Option B: Lower mileage lease (7.5k miles) + buy extra miles later

Do a quick calculation to compare the total cost difference between lease options against purchasing 2,500 extra miles annually at the manufacturer’s rate.

No. You pay the difference in residual in the payment or you pay it upfront.
