Amazon to enter car sales (with Hyundai)

You just have to do a 15 year lease to get the best payments. The calculator only goes to 6 years, but 15 years should be around $150/mo. Anyways, I don’t think that site is ready for prime time.

Eventually this will impact the disruptors whose main target is people who pay through the nose for a “digital” experience which involves talking to 0 people in theory, for example Carvana.

I hope so. Carvana took billions in investor money and overpaid for a bunch of used cars, which IMHO contributed to rising used car prices. Their stocks are seeing a dead cat bounce by the meme, retail investors. I’m not a fan of Amazon dominating the world either, but at least they’re just working with local dealers.

From what I’ve been seeing on Reddit and a few other places, you’ll get to talk to Carvana A LOT, although after the sale. It seems they now stopped inspecting cars and just send them from seller to buyer without any reconditioning or verification, so people are getting cars with features varying from the listings, cars that are filthy, broken, damaged, etc…

Maybe this is just greater transparency of what was the SOP all along.

A year later, and it’s LIVE!

Purchase only, and a free $2500 GC to Amazon (duh) when bought before Jan 10

All I found so far was 5% off.

On a $25k car that’s a 10% rebate

still no leasing option
The success of this program will be if people can actually show up to dealer and take delivery without having to sit in a finance office etc.
Dealers always say that people don’t want to buy a car online but right now there’s no real way to buy a car online. Yes people don’t want to fill everything out on your site and then come in and get different pricing and having to start from the beginning

Miami area dealers showing $18xx DEALER FEES

Fk that…

What a time to be alive

First under MSRP 5n that I’ve seen
Plus Amazon GC

Amazon has decided to go head to head with Leasehakr now

Amazon Autos now has leasing options. For some cars, like the Ioniq5, but not the Tucson.

Of course the deals aren’t the best < 6% discount but they are starting.
And the Amazon GC is gone now.
The 3 day exchange is new to me, I didn’t know Hyundai had this.

Just wait until the “make an offer” feature appears. That’s when things get fun.
