Ally SmartLease (excess wear and tear)

does anyone have experience with this product? I was thinking of getting it if I could get it for $500 or so. It adds 2k miles and covers up to $1000 per incident for a total of $5k. I was thinking it would cover tires so it would pay for itself there… plus the mileage and wear policy.

Not sure if Ally is lenient with charges or if they are like US Bank

I got it fairly cheap on my Giulia lease. It says it covers $1000 per event up to $5000. each tire is a single item so that is the main reason I went with it, along with allowing $400 of excess mileage (2000 miles)

Regarding other wear, would scratches and chips normally fall under the $1000 amount? I would hope the stated limit is for accident damage or something. I keep my cars nice and garage them but of course things happen.

and sorry I completely forgot I made this topic before lol

Usually if something says smart, dependable, reliable, intelligent, etc. It’s not.

I know they try to sell these, but if it covers tires and provides 2000 miles I think it could be worth it… especially because I was debating between 10 and 12k a year

Ally only allows dealers to sell the SmartLease Protect product, which includes the excess mileage coverage. In the grand scheme of lease wear and tear products it is good. Your cost will probably be between $550 and $600 for SLP if the dealer is generous with the pricing.

Or if it says "TRUST ME "

Does anyone know if the smart lease protect is transferable in the case of lease swap?
