Ally Lease - Jeep Wrangler

So I’m trying to get out of a lease that I have with Ally Financial for my Jeep Wrangler, mostly because I want to get a newer Jeep (got a great deal on one).

I realize that getting out of an Ally lease is quite difficult. I went to my original dealership where I purchased the Jeep, they valued it at 30k, but the payout was 35k.

I took a look online on my Ally account and requested a quote, I could buy it out for a little over 29k. But it also provided a lease return quote:

I only have 7 more payments left on the car (around $2700) since my lease ends in July 2023. I’d prefer not to buy out the car (I don’t want to deal with the hassle). Should I try to shop it around at other dealerships that have Ally, or maybe just pay our that lease return price (I’d be out $1600 it seems but I’d be willing to pay that)?

Pay the $1.6k

Ally means no one wants it.

What’s the payment? Can you transfer it? Probably get out of it for less than $1,600 even if you have to give an incentive.

Ally doesn’t allow transfers.

Bleh yeah I had a feeling that just paying the $1600 was the best case. You think I’ll owe any more than that? (Besides the disposition fee)

This car was my first lease so a tad new to this stuff.

They will get an inspector to find issues, dents scratches, rim rash, those are all chargable
