Alfa Romeo Gulia Lease-Ally bank

Hello everyone,
So my brother leased his 2021 Alfa Romeo and is currently paying 600ish/month (never ran into this website and is kicking himself for it and how much this is costing him). Lease is through Ally bank. He currently got diagnosed with Leukemia and won’t be driving for the forseeable future. He has 15.8k miles on the car and a clean interior. One rim has curb rash. His buyout is 35.5k and early lease termination penalities is 11k (neither of which he can afford). Have tried the usual 3rd partities but apparently Ally is charing them upwards of 45k for them to buyout. Local dealer is sitting close to 28.5K. There buyout is 33kish. He still ha 18 months on the lease. Other dealers are either lower or their buyout is too high.
I am just looking for advice and making sure there are no other angles to look at to help lessen the financial blow of all this. Thank you in advance to everyone and this community in general!

Sorry to hear about your brother’s diagnosis. Your best bet is probably to find more Ally-affiliated dealers who have the same 33k payoff to Ally and see who can get closest to a clean (minimal negative equity) exit.

thank you and thank you for the kind words.

Reach out to DSR leasing they are on this forum. They can buy out Ally leases at affiliated Ally dealership prices.
