After shelter-in-place/stay-at-home

At least you don’t have to be worry about social distancing at a Marlin games

But I’m thinking it would take another month for me to go out to restaurants. Definitely no movies or cruise.

I think it depends on what’s going on w/ COVID-19, independent of government recs. Is there a vaccine or widespread antibody testing available? Do we have treatments that we think might be decently effective for a substantial portion of people w/ severe illness? Do we think this might be a seasonal thing?

I love eating out, so I’m likely to go back to a sit-down restaurant (assuming the tables aren’t crammed together) faster than anything else. I’m doing a ton of restaurant pick up right now. I hated flying even b/f the pandemic (I don’t want catch a cold or the flu), but I’ve got cruise tickets for December, so we’ll see what the situation is like…

I’d love to go on a cruise. Royal Caribbean cruises in the summer are extremely cheap and I’d love to check out Coco Cay now that the renovations are completed.

I’ll probably just be a degenerate waiting outside of Caesars Atlantic City for them to open the doors. Will I take off work to be there the first day they reopen? Yup

My thinking is that vaccine will not be available before those are lifted. But hopefully we will be on the other side of the curve

You need to be onboard ~2 hours before the ship departs due to government regulations. Might have to dip out of the game early

I’m hearing that casinos will be fine. But the employees will be in trouble because they are all considered non essential except for security guards.

Would love to fly out to Vegas after but just not sure about plane ride…

Four hour drive for me. And I was scheduled to be there last week for a conference that flipped to online only.

Yea, game ends at 3:30ish, 1 hour to get to the port via bus, less via taxi. But it is doable!

What about a $87/month Tacoma?

Calculated risk, but will wait a bit - saving for trips to see family (going to continue remote for work travel)

Go to a sit down restaurant - Soon as we can if there is outdoor seating, but unlikely for indoor dining. We did a lot of takeout before the lockdown, we find it more convenient and the whole restaurant experience is overrated IMHO for many establishments.

Go to a movie - not until there is a vaccine or cure. the summer releases are almost always awful, so we have some time before the adult films (oscar nominees) are released.

Go on an airplane - as soon as there are places where I can go on vacation and not be quarantined. nobody wants to spend 2 weeks in Hawaii locked up in a hotel room. Optimistically not before June

Go on a cruise - probably 2 decades. I never much liked cruises, they are mostly for old people.

Go to a baseball/football/basketball games - as soon as I can (I had opening day tix) but realistically I don’t see this happening before Fall

Go to a concert - haven’t been to one in years so this will have to wait for the vaccine/cure to be discovered
