Advice on Leasing or Financing BMW x7 M60i Custom Order

,

I am located in northern NJ, and I’m looking to finance or lease (36/12) a custom ordered BMW x7 M60i fully loaded (MSRP $117,880) within the next week. I’ve visited one dealer, and they were not willing to budge on the MSRP. Their numbers appeared to match what the LeaseHackr calculator displayed. I will be emailing two other dealers in the area, but I wanted to ask the expert LeaseHackr community if it’s unrealistic to expect some discount on MSRP for a 2023 BMW x7 M60i? I did see some forum members in CA received 10%+ off, but I could not find any forum members in the northeast with that discount. Your advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It’s an order on a 118k car. You need to either accept a broker discount deal or email every dealer you can find thats within a reasonable direct flight or 1% shipping cost with a proposal. This is the way.

Dear Sales Manager,

I’d like to place an order on the attached build sheet. Can you do a X% dealer discount before any incentives, no dealer add-ons, and buy rate MF

I’m willing to put a refundable deposit of $X down today if you can make this deal.

Regards,

*I’d consider putting a phone number down, sometimes folks take you a little more seriously. If you are concerned about getting bombarded get a google number.

Also 10% may be unrealistic right now. @nyclife has 225bps discount. If you can get 10% from cali, its worth the shipping. If that was a December deal you should reach out to the guy on the forum and see if it is replicable.

I can have a X7 M60i order placed at 5% off MSRP with base MF or finance rates. The dealer is local to you.

The car should arrive in 6-8 weeks after we start the process.

Probably the best I’ve seen on one of those. Great work!

The 11% off you’re probably referencing is on fully loaded 40i’s, and include a few options and accessories that might not usually be ticked for most.

The best on a M60i that I’ve come across this month is 4% on a build. Looks like somebody above can beat that on your coast.

11% off on a 40i is still quite outsized and abnormal for the market. Great work by @HonestyCar

Absolutely the best deal by a mile, was just providing some context for OP that it’s not necessarily a relevant data point.

It really is worth considering a loaded 40i, not just because of the lower MSRP and higher discount. The depreciation on the 60i will be much much higher.

If OP is trying to solve for lowest cost of ownership, I agree the 40i is probably a better value. But if it’s a more balanced scorecard I think the M60 scores a lot of points for the driving feel & performance. Not just 0-60 numbers but the V8 really changes the overall driving experience on these - effortless power off the line, merging, passing, closing a gap, etc. BMW makes an excellent I6 but for a car this size, the V8 is better suited. (3yr X5 M50 owner here w/ long history of I6 BMWs before that)

Also are the discounts that much different on a 2023 model? Seems like the aggressive one-offs on 40i models are either leftover pre-LCI 2022 models or end of year blowouts. I get that MSRP will be 10-15k more for the M60 but I think % off on selling price plus long term resale % will probably be pretty close. In that case depends if the OP likes the feel of the V8 to justify the extra $$. I would vote yes on that one personally.

I’m also looking for an X7 except a base model 40i. Local dealers in Illinois won’t go below MSRP either and the lease terms aren’t anything to write home about….What kind of terms are others getting in this market? We have great credit and are planning to run the lease through a business.
