How easy is it to get dealerships to give out lease numbers over email? Repayment amount/term/miles/money down/price of car/MF/residual etc. I’ve visited several dealerships in person the past two days & they seem reluctant to give these out in person. Maybe it was because I said upfront that I hadn’t narrowed down which car I wanted yet?
Anyways, how have you worded your emails to get them to give you out information over email?
Personally, i never ask for lease numbers and i never speak numbers with a dealer without already knowing what something should cost. Talking numbers with a dealer is for finding someone willing to do your deal based on what the current market supports, not asking what they want you to pay.
First: almost nothing is leasing well right now. So you’re wasting your energy and time.
How you word an email means little to nothing. In normal times: You need to make an offer. Fill out the LH calculator. RV and MF come from Edmunds forums. Selling price relative to MSRP from this forum. Rest is taxes etc.
I used to ask for all the info you’ve listed in my e-mails, and that didn’t go anywhere. I’m not in the market (and thus not needing to send any e-mails), but, in the future, I plan to do what the posters have written: give the dealers an offer (that is realistic). And be serious about it (meaning, if they give you what you want, make it clear that you’ll sign that day). Especially nowadays, dealerships aren’t going to bother, if you’re not ready to buy.
“Hi Mr. Dealer, I’m interested in leasing stock # 123456, the 2022 Ford Pinto with MSRP $45,995 you
have in stock. On a 36 mo/10k lease, if you can get to $500/month including tax with $1000 total due at signing then I can come in today to sign.”
You’ve done your research and know exactly how much discount you’re targeting and what the MF, local taxes, and other terms are. You’ve plugged all of the numbers into the LH Calculator and see that $500/mo with $1k DAS is an aggressive but do-able deal that you’re willing to sign right now for.
You make the dealer the offer, if they can meet it great, if not you thank them and move on to the next dealer.
What you don’t do is ask the dealer for a quote, then ask them what MF they’re using, then ask them if they can be $100/mo cheaper because it’s a nice round number, then the dealer says they can only go $15/mo lower, then tell them you need to think about it, and so on.
