Is this for personal or business use? My gut tells me that these things would lease terribly, if they even offer a lease program for personal use. If it’s gonna be a FHV type of deal I’m guessing that you are better off looking into business leasing companies for that kind of thing, or just purchasing it.
Wouldnt it be better to purchase a slightly used one then ? I mean I dont think they would offer good lease program for non business use specially when it has 12 seats… dont get me wrong but unless you have a really big family, banks might still think you will be using for business or ride sharing.
I do have a big family and it is for personal use.
So annoying that there aren’t any decent lease deals for any vehicles over 7 seats (even the 8 sweaters are expensive)
These things must go out of service at some point from transportation companies, limo/taxi, etc. You might be better off trying to find one of those that doesn’t look like it’s been beat to death, get a pre purchase inspection and spring for an extended warranty/put some money in savings for eventual repairs and maintenance.
Where are you located? I tried to do leases on 12 passenger and even investigated leasing an empty Mercedes sprinter and then buying custom seats, but it was impossible to lease. I bought a 2014 chevy express van in great condition and did it up with new seats and drop down DVD. All the additions plus small repairs still got me under 17k all in.
Yes and no,
The chevy express and old Ford vans drove much more like a truck than the newer transit series and Nissan, (the v6 ones). Those older ones aren’t made in v6 and are all v8
I have an Nissan NV3500 that I use to haul my kids around in. We bought a lightly used one with 9k miles because it saved me $9k. All full size vans lease horribly.
I hope this doesn’t get me in trouble with the moderators but there are lots of Facebook groups were people sell large family vans. I’d check those out.
The Nissan NV3500 and the Ford Transit are the only full size vans with rear airbags for carrying passengers. All the others, even the Sprinter, are basically cargo vans with extra seats and drive accordingly.
