So a dealer advertises a 2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line (MSRP listed as $59,515) as:
24 months/10,000 miles
$3999 DAS
$169/month + tax
Fine print in the ad only has the usual lessee responsible for license and registration and $650 acquisition and $400 termination.
For a GT-Line that seems like an excellent deal (the calculator indicates that in addition to the $18,975 Kia lease cash this would also involve an ~11.5% dealer discount to get to that total lease cost over the 24 months.
What do the experts here recommend in terms of approach given that it seems unlike that one could negotiate an even larger dealer discount? Would it make sense to just ask for a detailed deal sheet to verify that their numbers work out and match the Leasehackr calculator?
Ignore dealer advertisements since they’re BS 99% of the time, establish a well-resesrched target deal, make the dealer an unambiguous and immediately actionable offer.
Yes, numbers of course dependent on choices like whether acquisition/termination fee, a potential separate dealer fee, and license/registration are included in the calculator
But even your numbers (with acquisition, without government fees, and with a downpayment which I didn’t include) still have 7.7% dealer discount before the $18,975 lease cash. I consider that overall still good. Hence why I was wondering if people here would ever think it may make sense to ask for their breakdown rather than going in with my entirely separate offer and breakdown.
Yes, I completely agree that this one is probably the best breakdown in case of ad and that everything under fees in the calculator should be left at $0 (because of “lessee responsible for…”). In my original post I definitely had mistakenly NOT considered they should be left out to have the numbers for 3999 DAS + 169/month.
In the SIGNED section there is from just 2 weeks ago the same car (EV6 GT Line AWD) in the same state (WA). Would you as a top expert here mind quickly clarifying why in that contract STATUS line 7.J for sales tax has N/A and line 11.B has only $191 for sales tax? In other words, where are that person’s WA taxes reflected in the contract?
My guess is that the .3% tax applies to every transaction regardless of where the vehicle is registered…so the 1st contract probably lived out of state and did not have to pay WA taxes…and the 2nd contract was likely a WA resident.
Makes sense. If that 1st one with $503/month is without the standard WA sales tax, then not having any dealer discount at all included in the calculator (essentially sales price = MSRP) and $0 DAS like the person did gets the monthly close to that number.
