Dealer is offering wear and tear protection for $695 which I believes covers the tires and adds 500 miles to the allotted mileage. I live in nyc and will be parking the car in a garage so I have no ability to park or retrieve the car in the next 3 years. Have to imagine the odds of not getting a scratch or issue is low.
Thoughts?
City cars always have scratches/dings on the bumpers from street parking or valets plus curb rash too. $695 is a great price for that package since most dealers will sell that for $1500+. I assume by your post that your car will be valet parked in your building since you don’t have access to retrieving the Audi. For $695 I would get the wear and tear protection just to protect myself against any damage the valets will cause.

Very true. Could be a third party or in-house program. I was just going by the title. I am guessing the FI manager is trying to hit a penetration goal which is why it is being sold for cheap.

I have it on a good authority that this isn’t possible.

Ask for the contract and read the fine print. I declined this on mine. It covers you for $10k max. However, the one fine print that I did not like was it is a maximum of $1000 per line item. This means that if all 4 tires need to be replaces, it likely will be over $1k. So if it’s over $1k, I do not know if you just pay the amount over $1k or if it’s just not covered all together. I declined, so I never asked further on this. They offered this to me for $720, down from $1120 initially, so if you do get it, it seems like it’s offered at a good price point.
I’m picking up a new 2021 Q5 tomorrow for a 3 year lease. I am thinking about getting the tire protection which is around $1300 for 3 years. Is this worth it or better off taking my chances? I’m driving a lot in NYC.
Also this is my first time getting a car, is there anything I should ask for or negotiated while I’m at the dealership tomorrow? Any extras they may throw in such as a kit for the car or something similar? Any suggestions are appreciated.
