For ratefindr, is it possible to list what models have lender tax credits each month. I imagine for most folks in the Texas market, this is a crucial piece of information.
Right now it’s very difficult to find this information

I echo this. I would think that the same sources for the monthly programs would include sales tax credit information.
Adding to ratefindr would be ideal, but I’d settle for having a thread where anecdotal reports are posted. (maybe this thread?)
Lender tax credits are dealer to dealer. So it’s a little tough
Can you elaborate on “dealer to dealer”? If BMWFS is offering tax credits this month, how is that dealer to dealer? Thx
Each dealer has a certain amount of credits. Some of the high volume dealers exhaust their credits immediately.
You have to contact each dealer / broker to see if they still have credits left.
There is a possibility that some of the dealers won’t offer the tax credits right there and will try to use it as a profit center.
Thanks.
Still worth knowing which lenders are offering the credits - just more follow up work to do.
And my experience is all over the map in terms of how the dealer treats them - some very open discussing them, just like other incentives, but more often kept close to the vest and possibly snuck into the deal to pad it for the dealer.
Knowledge is power.
They’re not.
That isn’t my understanding of how the tax credit system works….the way I’ve read it is that the tax credits belong to the lessor and are available to the dealer as a way of incentivizing certain models to decrease inventory / increase sales velocity.
Perhaps I should go look at the footnotes or BS for Group One or Autonation first but I’m still pretty skeptical that a dealer is keeping a pile of sales tax credits on their books in an attempt to make their quarter look better.
When they’re limited in number or sales aggregate, if not limited by model then priority is for cars that have been sitting a while.
Well what I meant by that is …
Buyer : What is this BS $2000 in Add-ons? I don’t wanna pay it.
Dealer : Let me see what I can ‘find’. Oh I have to leave it there, but will put a $2000 credit in ‘taxes’.
The same trick they pulled when the $7500 became a POS item, they would pull it out at the last second to justify $7500 in addons
For the average walk-in i’m sure it happens. But then again the average walk in is typically more focused on the payment/due at sign.
+1
That’s how LH deals are funded ![]()
They’re not what?
