I live in Illinois and found a 2020 MDX in Ohio that I am interested in leasing. I’ve reached out to the dealership with an offer, but they came back and said that since the car is a demo vehicle and has quite a few miles on it, it does not qualify for the incentives provided by the manufacturer. There is nothing in the details of the offer that specify the vehicle is restricted by mileage, but there is a restriction that fleet vehicles are not eligible. For Acura, are demo vehicles considered fleet vehicles? The car is being advertised as “new” on the dealer’s website.
To get certain incentives / rates yes Miles are one of the items they look at.
And it’s not usually listed since Demo cars are not their bread / butter.
For BMWs for instance I believe it’s 5000 miles? I don’t know Acura’s specific number.
I emailed the GM and the sales manager, and somehow a “sales consultant” got involved in the thread and he’s the one providing me the information. I’ve been going back and forth with him about the incentives. They haven’t said yes or no yet with regards to leasing the vehicle. I believe the car has over 7,000 miles on it (based off of photos of the odometer).
It was probably new at one point in time when it first entered the CRM / Inventory system and never re-coded as a loaner / demo would be my speculation.
Some dealers will assign a “spoon” and sales consultants can often be to a gm/sales manager what a scribe is to a doctor (poor analogy best I could think of) in a situation like yours and often much more.
While it’s always nice to streamline it some dealers don’t set it up like that.
It’s another human who works in sales and could possibly be quite helpful. Lots of “sales consultants” on this forum. Good luck with the MDX.
