Sure, maybe you don’t that’s fine, but a quick Google shows 79% of customers in 2017 either consider it a must have or a feature their interested in (the number is more than likely more now) I’m sorry, but I don’t know how Acura can position itself as a successful brand and ignore that.
Again, I totally think the lack of standard CarPlay is more of a symptom of an under invested brand more than an issue of the lack of the feature itself. To me, the bigger issue is without a doubt the fact that it’s an old Civic selling for more money, without much added value.
Don’t want to repeat the same comment, but answered this in the last comment as well. With all due respect, I think you’re in this minority. Regardless as other have said, the problem is definitely the fact that their selling a rebadged old Civic without much added value.
If you want to talk about the majority of people, the majority of people won’t even look at an ILX.
The reason there is such a vast array of vehicle choices (body styles, trim levels, packages, options, colors, engines, fuel efficiency levels, price points etc) is because tastes and priorities vary dramatically.
It’s astonishing to me that people find any car with under ~450 hp appealing.
I think a varying priority is “I want a 7-seater SUV not a performance convertible.” I would be hard-pressed to consider a feature 79% of people are interested in a varying priority.
On top of that, the discussion really is about the true value prop of Acura. Which seems to be nothing, if their not truly bringing forward premium vehicles to the market, but instead nearly a decade old re-badged Civics.
