The lease on my current vehicle is up September 15th. I am going to target an Escalade IQ Sport 1 as my next vehicle. I’ve already identified a number of loaners in my vicinity (looks like there is a decent CTA discount) and the August numbers for a 24mo lease aren’t awful (64% residual, 0.00094). I’m targeting a selling price of $106-110k and am in MA
Wondering if anyone in the group has any opinions on whether to try get something done in the next few days or roll the dice and see what September bring.
The only person that I know that has gotten a half decent deal on one of these is @schyulerw (his deal is a hell of a lot better than half decent) so I would defer to his opinion
I am going to broadly replicate @schyulerw deal. MSRP of the car I want is $131-135k and I need to get to about $106k to make that happen. Payment ends up being around $1200/month if I get this. Its a tall order but lots of these sitting on lots and there are 7 or 8 courtesy vehicles within an hour of me.
I would try now. If nothing happens you have at least planted the seed with dealerships so that next month when ev credit runs out they will be knocking on your door to move a unit.
I have been getting calls and text from dealers I contacted weeks ago today now wanting to get serious here in midwest.
I got called by two NorCal dealers saying they’re getting “serious” to move a $135,000 car by changing the dealer contribution so it’s $10k off MSRP instead of $8,000.
And @BrightBlue is gunning for $106K pre-incentives?
The one discussion I’ve been having with a local dealer got to $115 on a car with MSRP of $131. It is a loaner. $106 is a dream goal but I’ll be happy if I get to $110. We’ll see!
You walk into the dealership. Ask to speak to the GM. Refuse their attempts to pawn you off to anyone else. When you meet with the GM, you tell him/her that you are looking to redeem the $459/month escalade IQ but only if it has your desired color and options. The GM will initially push back and call you crazy (this is part of their trick). Keep relenting. Eventually, the GM will give in, make a call to the fairy wizards at GM Financial, and you will be driving off in your new IQ within the hour.
