Its a minivan “that looks” like a large SUV, with more room than most SUV’s.
This is a real head-scratcher of a metric. And not what this thread is about.
We are talking about practical purposes. Like actually using a car. Driving it for 30-45k miles. Lowering TCO, which is mainly comprised of depreciation, interest, maintenance, insurance and fuel.
If you want to discuss flipping or driving a car for free for N months, you can find or start a separate thread on that topic.
Man, sign me up… where did you find that?
thats has such a more powerful way of looking at. Thanks
I agree with @theleica, if you are looking for value, any hybrid Sienna is where it’s at.
The minivan is my favorite high-passenger count vehicle… even against SUVs because you can’t beat the ease of sliding doors and interior space.
SUVs with the same space can’t match the value of the MPG the hybrid Sienna has.
If you want to spend a bit more and most of your driving is local, the PHEV Pacifica is also a consideration.
6 years into CX9 leases looking for 3 more I have had no problem fitting 4 adults and 3 kids. Always have room to fit all camping gear. It’s not Escalade ESV but it has tons of room and power too.
$36k
Tech. Package
Purchased in March.
Compared to what? An Escalade ESV? No it doesn’t. Compared to a Tucson or CX5 it certainly does man. I have a family of 5 using it on the regular and never have issues.
Pretty much every other 3 row suv on the market and many 2 rows.
A cx5 with a little extra cargo space is a very accurate comparison.
Compared to other 7-seaters.
I just made the switch from the Sienna hybrid to the Pacifica PHEV and am so happy I did. The Pacifica is more refined and quieter (granted, in a more luxurious Limited trim vs the XSE of the Toyota), and the infotainment is a generation ahead.
@mllcb42 doesn’t like the CX-9 and had a bad experience that has scarred him. Since he didn’t like the CX-9 and it didn’t fit his needs, the CX-9 is not good or useful for anyone.
Sure as the sun comes up, if someone mentions a CX-9 in a positive way, @mllcb42 will be around to trash it.
I didnt mention any of the reasons in this thread I hate it, just that it’s geometrically challenged compared to all of its competitors. That isnt trashing it, thats being realistic about sizing. If someone is looking for a 7 passenger suv because they need a 7 passenger suv, it is at a huge disadvantage.
Its like someone shopping for a 7 passenger suv and being recommended a model y. Sure, There are 7 seat belts available, but that doesnt make it useful.
If you want me to trash that horrible piece of crap of a vehicle, I’d be happy to.
solid car the only problem is that your infotainment system is split into two systems and this is the last of the prev generation - the backup screen / module is the same as what you would see in a 2016 Civic that was refreshed that year
People buy 7 passanger cars where 99% of the time 3 or less people are in the car. Not sure where is the logic here.
The logic is that its none of your business - I have 7 passengers, figure out what kind of suv I need genius. Go be happy with your moped.
Congratulations to be part of such a big family. Honestly i am jealous.
The real answer to that question is usually that you need a minivan
