3rd Row SUV Options

Hi all. I’m looking for recommendations on SUVs with 3rd row seating. I love the Ford Explorer Sport but I’ve been reading on these forums that it doesn’t lease well :frowning:

I currently have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited lease expiring in August. I love the car because it feels luxurious and has lots of tech features, but without the price tag of a Mercedes. I’m currently paying $365/mo and would like to stay under $400 for the new lease.

Some cars I’ve looked into are Infiniti QX60, GMC Acadia Denali, Mazda CX-9 (higher trims), and Dodge Durango. Any other options? Must-haves are leather seats, backup camera, push button start, bluetooth audio. I like up-to-date technology in the car, although things like NAV are not necessary.

Do any of these seem feasible for my $400/mo budget? I would only be able to put maybe 2-3 MSDs if any.

I don’t know anything about the Durango, but I doubt you can get any of the others on your list for under $400. You’ll probably need to look at the Rogue or Highlander for under $400.

At least one person reported getting 10% off Msrp on an Acadia Denali - so $400 might be feasible. I located lease factors on Edmunds to estimate:
Msrp 49,925
Sales Price 44932 (10%)
Conquest lease 1,500
36 month/10K miles - 65% residual/.00119 MF
Aquisition fee 595
Doc fee 400
Payment before sales tax 412

Note: just hypothetical(not a quote) - I’d expect dealers will be pretty aggressive on price for Memorial Day weekend. (The lease rates on 24 months are also strong on this car - but would likely be a bit higher monthly -also the Denali trim appears to have a higher residual than lower trims - surprising)

Good luck!

Top trims of Santa Fe or Sorento? or Explorer?

Thanks for the insight @Jon

Explorer Sport would be my top choice but I’ve read that the lease programs are no good. Do you have any insight on that @mendor

You aren’t getting an explorer sport for under 400 a month, maybe an XLT or Limited if you’re lucky

For some reason I think VW will push Atlas really hard. @vhooloo - under $450/mo deals in a couple of months on loaded and under $350/mo on base?

365 a month for a GC? Now that sounds like a crazy deal. What did you put down? What was MSRP? Just asking because you should try replicating that. Durango has poor residuals though. What are you planning to put down and will you pay all fees, taxes upfront?

This was a few years ago but my wife leased a Explorer XLT 4x4 with leather and nav for $400 a month. $0 down. We did have Z plan through

Nice SUV, I looked at it too, but damn I just cant see myself in a 50k MSRP Ford.

MSP was $38,210, sales price was $33,660. I paid $2,000 at signing but that included first payment and all signing fees so a few hundred was an actual down payment. I know I got a great deal and have actually tried extending my lease but it’s with Ally and they will only give me 3 months :frowning:

Oh ok. I thought you had the limited, sounds like a laredo trim. For that msrp its an ok deal.

Actually it is a Limited. I guess prices have gone up since 2014
