I last leased (an iPace at 579 a month) 30 months ago so I’m six months out from needing a new car. The market sure has changed over these past 3 years!
Looking to lease a 3 row SUV EV with decent range so options are pretty limited. Anybody had any luck with the EQS SUV or any speculation on if the EV credit will pass through on the Model Y?
MY doesn’t have a usable third row. It’s an absolute joke. EQS is out of most people’s budget as it starts over $100k. The first real three row EV won’t be around until next year when Volvo starts EX90 deliveries. And god knows the lease will be hideous
Eqs SUV has a usable 3rd row, depending on your market, could probably get 5-10% off on a 450. 3rd rows are a lot less common than 2 row. Model X would be another option but it has stupid doors and leases badly.
So far things aren’t looking great 53% residual value on a 3 row + incentives so far are the 7500 ev pass through and what looks like $2500 dealer incentive. I don’t suspect these to sell well so discounts might be coming in Summer. For now pretty bad lease value.
I’m intrigued by the R1S but never like to buy a first gen vehicle, let alone from a brand new automaker and an EV at that.
I’m going to end up begrudgingly buying the Y and revisiting the market in 3 years. We’re in an in between time for large EVs where options are very limited in the short term. I’m sure in 2 years the market will be flooded with them.
