$275/M- 2021 Honda Accord Special Edition ($1250 Drive Off)

Hey Folks,
So last year (August), I was determined to get a good deal on a Honda Accord, was lucky to pull a 2020 Honda Accord for $250 a month, with $1500 in drive off ( deal fees, cap cost reduction, 1month. Prior to the 2021’s arriving on the lots. (Contract Sell Price $24k)

Fast forward to this year, and Carmax offered me ($25,800) for the same Accord. I took that in a heartbeat but needed to ensure I could turn around and get a similar deal on a New Accord. So I just closed on the following deal below, for a 2021 Honda Accord Sport 1.5t, Special Edition.

Alot of folks would probably ask, why turn around a grab the same car when you just received $1,800 in equity from Carmax. Well my reasoning is the following, the 2021 SE Model has alot of what was missing in 2020 Sport Standard (Leather, Heated Seats, Remote Entry). So I didnt mind paying $25 a month more, while I gave the dealer $250 less in Drive off’s. Lastly, with the fire at the chip maker factory and the overall shortage, I am hedging that Honda will struggle to produce enough cars this year which will likely cause these SE Accords to have some price inflation in the next 18months.

Congrats, post pics!

Cool I been thinking to get rid of my 2019 sport, curious mine has remote start/entry/heated seats why didn’t the 2020?

Did you have the 2.0T? Usually that’s the higher end model?

Nice deal! Wish I lived in a place that had just 3.5% tax!

I assume based on his payments for his last car that he didn’t have the 2.0t which is a brilliant engine. The accord in general is an all around great car. Good tech and roomy back seat.

The. 1.5L is plenty of power for a daily driver though.

I have the 2.0 and it’s just eh. I mean it goes, but nothing like the 2.0 in my previous GTI.

Does the 1.5 average any better fuel economy? My 2.0 has been abysmal at around 18mpg lifetime. I never drive freeway miles so I might look into the insight.

The K20C is not designed to be a fuel sipper…it’s a square engine (bore, stroke are same)

Over 62k miles I’ve averaged 29.4MPG with my 2.0T 6MT. High of 39.7, low of 22.1. So I’ve never run a full tank as low as you. Majority of that mileage is on a Hondata Stage 2 6MT 93 octane tune. You may want to invest in that if you’re not satisfied with the performance. It pulls like a freight train. KTuner is also a good one.

You can easily buy a used flash pro or sell it when you’re done as it’s interchangeable between several different Hondas. I got mine on EBay for like $400.

I drove the hybrid (wasn’t available when I got mine) and it fixes a lot of issues - instant power, way smoother and quieter, and 2 x the MPG city. The 1.5 sport feels pretty good too, just much lighter & nimble feeling.

My only real complaints with the 2.0 is the horrendous turning radius & city mpg. It can do 30mpg on the highway no problem, but I almost never drive highway miles. Performance wise it’s fine for a big car, just feel like standard should’ve been closer to sport mode.

I am looking for such a car.
