First time lease here and I learn a lot from forum, thank you. I want to check the deal and would love to learn your thoughts. Thank you!
Thanks for all the reply and add some context of lease.
I plan to purchase a car and own it for a long time, but looking on lease here to take advantage of EV credit for the rebate. I decide to choose compact PHEV SUV based on my needs and go with Outlander PHEV after test drive and research(welcome on the idea go other than Outlander)
There is 2500 miles due to demo(potential one long trip from dealer). I am not sure whether this is a concern and how much discount should I ask.
I started out here trying to make an Outlander PHEV deal make sense, and that residual just kills it. You can lease an XC90 T8 for a pretty similar amount in the Northeast according to Marketplace but I only saw Mazda CX90s there instead for WA. However, the interest rate is good, and if you plan to buy out at the end, the low ish residual becomes your friend.
Why would you lease this and then to continue and buy it? Their residuals are terrible cause literally nobody wants them. There are so so so so many better cars out there. Anything Mitsubishi is literally bottom tier. You can use a broker here, lease and buyout a RAV4 prime, and even with shipping you’ll save money because there will be so much money lost the second you drive this car off the lot. Please do yourself a favor and don’t buy that.

Could you help to elaborate it?

Thanks for recommending RAV4 prime, will take a look. Are you referring lose so much money due to 2500 miles? If so, what’s a fair discount on the mileage?
I just kept the Pacifica Hybrid I bought in 2018…at this point I think I’m holding off on replacing the minivan until my first graders are out of booster seats.
I understand why you said lease to buyout. I mean more like this is a truly awful car, I can’t believe you’re going to not only lease it but then buy it out
In terms of elaborating, note how you don’t see any on the road and there are no dealers. It’s because nobody wants them. They’re poorly made with a terrible reputation in the US. That brings me to the last point about losing money. It’s not the demo miles, it’s the fact that the residual on these is terrible because no one ever buys these. There’s probably 100 rav4s for every 1 Outlander on the road and for a good reason.
Do yourself a favor, contact someone like @Jrouleau426 , do a lease to buy on a prime rav4 and don’t regret your decision.
Thanks for chiming in. Have a forester for 10 years now. In general, it is a good car but need to change engine oil every 1200 miles or so and interior definitely could be improved :smile
