Does anyone know if Honda, Subaru, Ford, or VW offer 24-month leases? Thinking about a Civic Si, WRX, Focus ST, or GTI to bridge me until the BMW 3 series redesign.
They may offer it but the question is at what price
If all of them did, which car would you pick
@JamesBond, it’ll be materially more expensive than 36mo? I figured the RV would be higher and offset.
@joeblogs, I don’t know. Any recommendation?
I’m pretty sure they do but I don’t think any of them lease well. I don’t want to be that guy who always mentions the Alfa Romeo Giulia but if you’re looking for 24 month leases and like the 3 Series you’d be crazy to not look at it. Depends on your area but try https://www.alfaromeousa.com/car-shopping/current-offers with your zipcode.
@ajgraham, the Alfa leases are 24mos?
You all ready posted “What to get now as I wait for BMW redesign” and asked about 24 month leases, what gives. Why don’t you do some research and drive some stuff instead of wasting people’s time on here
@joeblogs, as far as I can tell, people ask questions on this forum. In fact, pretty sure that’s the point. Cool point, though, bro.
Most cars that lease, will lease for 24 months but you’ll often pay more (but not always). The key aspect is the depreciation with leases, as that’s what you’re effectively paying in return for temporary ownership. Some cars depreciation tracks evenly over 2 or 3 years, which means the cost is similar.
I’d recommend doing some research on Edmunds.com, in the forums there they have the residual values and other details needed for calculations. You can then compare lease costs for the cars you’re looking for and weigh up cost and pros and cons.
@ajgraham, thanks. Yeah, I guess you have to weigh the depreciation slope against the RV value to determine what type of hit you might take from a 24mo lease vs a 36mo lease.
yep, and don’t rely on sales people knowing what term is most cost effective, most are just fed numbers by their sales managers. You need to do the maths to make sure it’s the best deal. Do so before emailing dealers so you can say what numbers you’re looking for and it cuts out a lot of back and forth.
@ajgraham, good advice. Thank you.
Alfa Guilin lease for 24 months would be a good move…
