Loaner with RWD? What area did you get it? Ohio? I just donā€™t understand how people are doing it. Even people with demos are quoting in the 700ā€™s. Itā€™s insane.

The first step of hacking is finding a dealer looking to play ball.

The second step, which is usually the toughest part, is to work on the deal. There is no easy way around it.

Understood. First of all, how will you know if the dealership is willing to play ball? How do you work the deal without looking like an idiot? I feel like once you lay it all out there they donā€™t respond because they think you are ridiculous. I guess you just have to have patience and be persistent!

You ask for pre-incentive discount

Develop a rapport with the sales people you work with. Help them to see that you understand the realities of their position, and of the market, and while youā€™re out for a good deal for yourself, you also want to find a scenario thatā€™s advantageous for the sales person / dealer, and youā€™re open to doing the whole thing in a way that minimizes inconvenience and maximizes benefit for everyone.

If you can present yourself as a serious buyer who is not going to be a massive headache but is going to be an easy way to move a unit, youā€™re probably better than 99% of the population reaching out for these deals.

After reaching out to them, you will quickly find out whether they are looking to deal. Letā€™s say their initial offer is 5% off MSRP, but your goal is to get 20% off MSRP. Your best bet in this case is to move onto another dealer. After a while, if most dealers in your area are in the 10 - 15% off range, you need to ask yourself whether you should re-adjust expectations or broaden your search radius.

Donā€™t be rude when dealing with salespeople. Donā€™t take anything personally, and be ready for lots of rejection. The most important advice is to know your numbers, 'cos some dealers (GMs or GSMs) might ask you how you got to your monthly. If they ask, be prepared to show them (DO NOT share the LH calculator). There are websites that show you how to calculate a lease by hand. Iā€™ve personally calculated numbers by hand a few times.

You donā€™t need to include MF, RV or too much info on your first email. There are lots suggestions on this forum on how to reach out to dealers.

Yep. Location is also a factor. Right now, it seems like some of the best EQS deals are on the West Coast.

EDIT: If a dealer is close to your target number but you want to convince them to agree to your terms, tell them you will SIGN TODAY if the numbers align for you. Only do so if you are really serious.

Most of them wonā€™t be. Rejection is ok.

So then itā€™s nearly impossible is what you are saying? Is it worth looking for a lease in California if the car will be registered in New York?

Nice. If itā€™s the dealer Iā€™m thinking about they told me they canā€™t lease that unit, lmao

To all the newbs, youā€™re going to get like 20 rejections or crazy #s before you get a good deal. Itā€™s a #s game just like life. If you canā€™t find a good deal yourself, then ask a broker. Hack on!
