the lease programs are terrible on these. but the MF is reasonable. so the lease makes more sense than purchase and you will end up with lots of equity if the goal is to have the car for less than 3 years
This was in ca. unfortunately in NorCal so I’d have to go pick it up from SoCal . I think 20% on convertibles can be done but really had no interest in those .
Again the lease residuals are horrible at 57% and money factors are not that great . So all in all this is nowhere near a good hack able lease. The only think i tried to achieve with this was the ability to drive it for a couple years , pay it off and sell it and if you look at it that way it makes a whole lot of sense (not that buying a 100k car makes any sense at all) :
Upfront savings are good at 14%
80k purchase price I believe is right inline with auction values for 26 MY
No more m3/4 for atleast another 2 years which should keep the residuals high
MF after MsD is comparable with CD rates so buying cash vs leasing is a wash from interest perspective
Paying 2k + aquistion vs 7k in sales tax in 2 years
And who cares if the residual is 57 or 37 as long as the plan is to payoff and trade /sell in couple years
I almost pulled the trigger on 110k msrp M2cs (deal was negotiated and drive to the dealership to pick it up) but the cooler heads prevailed . M2cs is good and it’s special but not 30k more special or any better than m4 . What gave me pause was the news of another cs variant being announced soon which will most definitely impact residuals of the m2 cs. The f87 m2 cs is still selling for msrp . And my goal was to achieve the same thing with the g87 m2 cs but that is looking increasingly unlikely .
nobody wants to buy the convertible ones. every dealer i have reached out to has 3,4 convertibles sitting on the lot with 105K+ MSRP and that’s in socal with all year round convertible weather. i think the floor is 15% discount on convertibles
