I live in Idaho and have been hunting for a lease deal on a 2026 RAM 1500 Laramie. I’m not locked in on a “must have” spec, but what I’d most like to have is this model with the Level 2 Equipment and Night edition packages. Also want the Hurricane v-6 engine, not the hemi. Colors aren’t critical, but my favorites are black, red/burgundy, and silver.
I’ve looked at dealers both in Boise (where I live) and nationwide. The packages, prices, and discounts vary widely. Also, the pricing that is usually advertised is (the dealers tell me) for purchases and not leases. I’ve been looking at some local models that have been sitting on the lots here since last Sept/Oct. For example, this one, which has more options than I want, just showing it because it’s local: (https://www.lhmdodgeboise.com/new-inventory/index.htm?trim=Laramie&gvBodyStyle=Truck&model=1500&engine=I6%20Hurricane%20SO%20Twin%20Turbo%20ESS) was priced below $65k in March, now it’s almost $70k in April. Just sitting there getting older. I’ve also been talking with Dave Smith Motors up in northern Idaho. They’re a lot harder to get specific information from. They keep telling me to order one, but that’s a three month minimum wait.
I would sincerely appreciate any help that expert hackrs would be willing to give me. I can buy locally, regionally, or nationwide. How would you guys look for the best deal on this specific RAM? What do you think the elements should be for a good/great deal?
There has been increased demand for this truck recently which has driven price up, so it’s not a surprise to see dealers start to pull back on discounts. None the less, for leasing you want to target at least a 10% dealer discount before incentives. We’ve seen some bigger discounts recently on demo units with a few thousand miles. Make sure you’ve researched all the conditional incentives including lease cash, loyalty, affilaite and website TDM. The best deal stacks all of these.
I see you saying you’re not looking for a specific spec, but Night+Level2 is pretty specific and is going to come only with higher MSRP units. Consider Sport+Level1 if you want to get into the lower payment range. With the surge in demand, expect most dealers to play the “I know what I have game” – would not be surprised if many are at MSRP, or just offer standard affiliate pricing. CDJR dealers rarely advertise pricing clearly, but a good dealer to start with is Mark Dodge to get a price target to beat.
You can also look to some of the deals offered by brokers in our marketplace here. Here is one deal (from last month) where calculators are shared, which is useful to see a true pricing breakdown.
That’s really helpful information! I am looking at all the different research threads that you offered. You’re right that the demand for the hemi-engine versions were really up in the first quarter of the year.
Well you are in luck, you have chosen the right model as the Hemi is only available on trims higher than the Larimie. unless you want the relatively optionless warlcok.
I second the option of going with the sport trim.
I thought you have a lot of the Volume discount dealers out there
It’s interesting to see Ford take a big hit. I’m in the last month of a lease on a 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat. When I started shopping the 2026 Ford Lariats, there so little difference in the look, feel, performance, and tech of the new models that I legitimately couldn’t figure out what was different. At least the price was 9% higher for the 2026 - that much was clear.
See Ford take a massive hit in volume sales isn’t surprising to me in the least.
I have only attempted deals with both of them from California on Ram trucks but ultimately was able to score a deal at the same price or better closer to home.
Each time they were both very helpful.
I would go on the 2 larger Ram 1500 forums where they talk prices and deals for the latest info and suggestions about the Smith and Dillon dealerships.
