But can it catch itself on fire?
Jeep
EV
67k
They’ll blame the lack of $7500 for the flop.
Thank goodness they didn’t call this one something stupid like “Wagoneer S Short Wheelbase.”
I just hope it does EV things well (though Stellantis has given us no reason to believe it will).
MSRPs are largely meaningless. They’ll apply Kohlsian pricing techniques and no one will pay the price on the tag.
But is it hackable?
$67k, 250 mile range…..LOL
DOA
Considering the way my Charger Daytona died and the effort it took to get it towed out of my suburban garage, no thanks. Imagine trying to get a flat-bed out on the trail when this thing inevitably shits the bed?
Good news is it probably won’t make it past the car carrier.
This thing will be a total fail. Not sure who’s gonna buy it, real Jeep guys don’t even want the 4xes let alone a full EV with only 9” ground clearance.
These cars that were in the pipeline that are substantially finished (or maybe not even that) probably have to be brought to market to reap maximum losses for tax purposes. I don’t think anyone expects it to be good, reliable, or to have any lasting support post sale.
It still impacts property taxes, insurance cost and etc…
Nevertheless, it is a DOA product.
Hear me out… I’d like to get back to a more rugged SUV after my Blazer lease is up but I’m also not really thrilled with the idea of ever paying for gas again. There’s a number out there where this would make a lot of sense, its just a matter of what that number is and how to get to that number. I’d be willing to give it a whirl but I do suspect that the audience for these will be small.
Except for compact cars meant for city use, any new release with range of 250 miles or less is an automatic flop.
Perhaps but that can be advantageous for people who don’t need crazy range and/or have access to free/cheap charging at work, etc.
I’d assume that people that are looking for a more rugged SUV wouldn’t want it just for daily commute…
but I know I’d be wrong on that assumption.
This is what you buy for your irresponsible 16 year old daughter who wants a “Wrangler” because its “cool” but you don’t want her having to deal with going to gas stations or oil changes etc.
Yeah there’s way too many Wranglers out there for that to be true!
Who also can’t be bothered to charge it.
Even to this day I still have to take my mom and sisters cars for oil changes. I can only imagine if I have a daughter, lol
My sister called me a couple months ago that her Jeep needed an oil change. I get her car and oil life is on 0% in the cluster ![]()
