Well Honda walked away from a deal guessing that’s not a good sign
Nissan is experiencing significant financial distress as of late 2025, characterized by a 90% drop in operating profit, massive $4.5 billion losses, and 12-14 months to turn around their financial situation. The company is implementing drastic survival measures, including 9,000 job cuts, a 20% reduction in global production, and selling off assets. Key challenges include falling sales in China, lack of hybrid options, and high costs.
Yeah I was just saying the Japanese have a long history of supporting “too big to fail” entities. I don’t view a Nissan failure/bankruptcy/liquidation as remotely likely - but again it’s my opinion. A brokered takeover or partial sovereign ownership/support is more likely in my opinion.
I’m sure not much ,probably just operate thru bankruptcy and do a re org but again not fun if any issues arise to deal with a company going thru a re org. Car companies are tough enough to deal with. But I’m sure it would be fine and not happen
1% of Japan GDP not a chance in my view. I’m not disputing they are on the ropes in serious trouble in serious distress. That’s all true.
Who knows and I’m a BMW guy but the Nissan/Infiniti (Maxima, Altima, J30, QX4, G35) we have had never had a problem! Great cars that were sportier than their in country comp.
Hi

What does this mean for Infiniti lessees? I recently got into a Qx60. Love it btw.
Prob not much. Nissan is losing money and looking for opportunities to tighten belt. Focusing on core operations and markets. Closing losers, etc.
yes wasn’t the best experience but got it done
