(2026) Acura RSX returns

… as a swoopy SUV “coupe” EV:

Hey, I guess at least they’re trying? (as in, the Acura product isn’t coming out years after the de-contented Honda version)

Old cars always coming back as EVs, smh. Literally nobody is asking for this

Shame on Acura for branding this as an RSX

They could have called it literally anything else

Well, maybe not the Legend…

Honda believes bringing back nameplates is the way to bring in customers. In reality if the product has substance it works, if only namesake then bad.

Type R Civic good.
Slapping type S or A on anything bad.
integra bad
zdx bad
RSX probably bad
civic coupe masquerading as a prelude probs bad.

Wait till the NSX is relaunched as a 7 seat EV only competitor.

I imagine RSX was rationalized as being the coupe-like version of the RDX, while its shared nameplate with the fourth-gen Integra being a bonus to get attention.

It will likely be the same size and price as the ICE RDX.

Definitely a bit letdown as an RSX owner. First hearing the nameplate was coming back had me thinking something else, but EV SUV coupe probably should have surprised me.

They used to be so dope back in the day man.
TL-S with a manual anyone?

Looks ridiculous, they ruined the Mustang to begin with.

They were great as alternatives to your typical Toyota, Lexus, etc.

Once you start getting into sport sedan territory why would anyone want FWD?

honda and acuras really came to the fore front personally not cause they were fast or the epitome of sports car but they were the tuner scene. These were also folks balling on budget.

Body kits, stereos, ground effects, fart can exhausts, those shimmering tints jobs etc.

Toyota at the time was just the beige sales king/lexus was after mercedes with absolute units of machines, while Nissan was trying to sell rebadged Ford Windstars and 4 door front wheel drive sports sedans proudly built in the USA.

I couldn’t care less that a CUV “coupe” is called the RSX and think this looks pretty good, but I completely trust Honda/Acura to totally butcher the production version:

They just cancelled, or at least postponed, the RSX for America. I wonder if they will turn around and continue producing the RDX for a bit longer before they shut down for the new model that’s set to debut in two years.

They also cancelled 2 more cars that were supposed to be built here:

Hey, I thought the justification for tariffs is to get them to build it here LOL.

careful, they flag this as political and you go to leasehackr gaol. tariffs are great for manufacturing and job creation, while increasing consumer choice. say it w me.

also, for what it’s worth, the RDX is not coming back for this year, and until 2028 at the earliest. spoke w my dealer about this this morning.

Their dealers can’t be happy. Between the ZDX and RDX, Acura is going to be selling 30% less cars. Can’t imagine many RDX buyers would be interested in trading down to the ADX.

Well, it was to get them to build something here, although perhaps not EVs….

One interesting statement from the article shouldn’t be overlooked:

In its release regarding the changing product plans, Honda was shockingly blunt about its situation, saying that it was simply unable to deliver products that offer a better value than that of newer Chinese manufacturers.

Hmmm…. Given that the current RDX has been around since MY 2019 or so, I wonder if Honda is doing a rush job to create a next-gen one.

And what will current ADX owners trade up into, if they don’t want/need something the size of the MDX?
