2025 X7 lease help

,

Location: Southeast NC
Vehicle: 2025 BMW X7
MSRP: 98755
Lease: 39 months @ 10k /year

New to the forum but have been doing a lot of reading over the past few months looking into the lease of a i40 X7. My wife and I finally got to the dealership to test drive and talk numbers (closest dealership is about 45 miles away). Upon arrival the salesman greeted us and gauged what spec and model year we were wanting to look at (We didn’t really care if 2025 or 2026) but he ended up bringing a 2025 X7 for us to test drive (last one on their lot, been sitting for 155 days). We liked the car quite a bit as this is a big step up for us as a family and our first foray into luxury brand/suvs. After our test drive, we went into the dealership to discuss lease/finance options. I had mentioned how many of the X7s lease deals I’ve seen recently are coming with a decent discount of around 10% off MSRP, he said that is impossible as they only markup 6% from invoice. After speaking with his finance manager he presented us with this deal:

This has $995 for ceramic coating which we will most likely not bother with and is asking for 9.2k due at delivery. I explained that I dont want to put any money down up front but was told its the only lease deal they can do for 2025s. Not sure how true this is.

This was based off of this on BMW USAs site:

Edmunds RV & MF:

Concerns: How far off the MF & RV is from the edmunds base rate. I know the MF can be massaged between myself and the dealer but I think the RV is set by the bank and is not a negotiable item. Also them sticking to putting money down up front that is not first months payment, taxes, doc and aquisition fees.

Can any of you Hackrs please give me some help in understanding all of this and maybe some recommendations on a way forward. We love the car but dont want to be sitting on a bad deal for 39 months if we can help it. Thank you!

This deal is complete and utter crap. I wouldn’t even bother going back to the dealer at that price lol. They’re giving you like 3% off and refusing to recalculate the numbers with $0 DAS.

That should be the payment at $0 DAS. Tell them to eat the $10k DAS. Thats what you would need on that baby. 3.6% off is shameful.

Yeah, once he put the sheet in front of me I was a bit confused as I was upfront about not wanting to put anything down aside from required fees/taxes. Kinda caught me off guard to be honest. The salesperson did say he was relatively new so I assume his sales manager is using him as a puppet as he has little to no experience.

It depends on what you wanna do. If you want to spend hours and hours to do your own deal, I recommend trying to get 12% off and take 8%+. (all discounts are assuming no markups or extras like PPF or warranty). If you don’t want to do your own deal then you can ask for a BMW broker like @IAC_Scott (who I think has the closest dealership to you). Either way, it’s don’t go to this dealer lol. It isn’t even the fact that they won’t discount, its the fact that they won’t even restructure the deal to $0 DAS.

The SA might also think that because you drove 45 minutes and like the car, he’s trying to get as much as possible from you. Remember, all salesman (cars, realtors, ect) try to make you emotionally attached to the product so that you’ll pay more for it.

The good thing is you had done the research and didn’t sign first and ask us all later like we see many individuals doing.
The great thing is that the salesperson told you straight up (kind of) that they dont discount cars much which isn’t unusual depending on the location of the dealership.

Definitly move on to another dealers, cast a wider net on sites to find the color combo and features you want and then start discussing with dealers over email or text. No visiting needed as you already test drove the car.

Other than that if you feel that you cant put the work in, let a professional handle it for you. Take it as a learning experience. Like @li8625 mentioned @IAC_Scott is a great broker.

I’m in no rush to get this car right this instant but within the next few months is preferrable. I saw a lonely 2025 sitting on the lot and thought there would be a good deal to be had and it’s spec’d with everything we’d like aside from the seat color (but were willing to compromise for a deal). I appreciate the sanity check, as I was looking at everything at the desk and asking the hard questions, I wasnt getting the warm and fuzzy I was looking for in the SAs responses. I am glad we got to test drive because we were also looking at the MDX Advanced and I prefer the X7 much more now having driven it. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and provide some resources!

I live in NC too. BMW dealers here don’t want to discount unless you force them to and even then it’s not great.

I’ve worked with @IAC_Scott as well and agree just contact him and be done with it.

You might as well take my lease over on a m60 for way cheaper lol.

I’m in NC and I never buy from this state. Most clients in RDU and CLT have money and/or are from the NE area so no patience to shop around. I have bought from @Ashleigh and @IAC_Scott. Both great brokers and probably cut your DAS well more than half

Facts. Most NC dealers are awful.

Well to be fair if you are shopping for a car with ADMs then NC is great (G63, GT3, etc) because a lot of the big dealer groups charge MSRP.

Otherwise yeah painful.

The absolute best thing you can do is to learn how to calculate your own payment/DAS and put a spreadsheet together or use the calc on this site. Read delta’s pdf…or just hire Scott otherwise you are going to get taken for many $1000’s.

I second this. Give Scott a call. His broker fee will feel like a rounding error relative to the deal sheet they put in front of you.

Yes, I can help too. My closest dealerships are in SC and VA, but you’ll save a ton.
