Started looking for a deal after my fellow NC resident @djrabbi started the XC90 mania. Emailed a bunch of dealers all over the state until I got this one to bite. I offered 420/mo with 420 DAS and he countered with 489/mo and 489 DAS. I took it as I didn’t want the hassle of trying to negotiate a few 10s of dollars off per month and nobody else was anywhere near these numbers. I also just moved into a new house (which requires a ton of time) and wanted as seamless a transaction as possible. While it’s not a “$199” per month ultra, it’s a good car for a decent price. Wife was adamant on having a white interior and having a 6P configuration, so my options were somewhat limited. Overall, a mid deal that I am happy with.
I did not ask the dealer if they would replicate this deal. They do have more XC90s in stock, but I will not be sharing dealer details, so please don’t ask. The salesperson was a pleasure to work with and I don’t want to pay him back with hordes of emails from all the lurkers. Happy hunting.
P.S. No matter how much I try, I cannot get the calculator to match up with what the dealer put in front of me. If I enter all the info as the dealer did, it looks like my payment should be ~$5 higher than what it is. In any case, here’s my best estimate at making the numbers work: Leasehackr Calculator - Hack your next lease | Leasehackr
Yeah, I’m in Raleigh and some of the pricing that I was quoted in response to my inquiries was… “interesting” to say the least. Greensboro wanted $600 for a 2024 loaner with 3300 miles on it… I was tempted to tell the SM to pound sand but the sales person that got the demo mileage for me was so nice, I couldn’t bring myself to make her look bad. They clearly know what they have and are not willing to sell it to just anybody.
If by blacked out soccer mom car you mean the GW you keep writing about, the only way I’ll see that thing is when it’s parked in the neighboring service bay as my 2022 Grand Cherokee L is getting its oil changed .
My finance guy said the deal funded and was all set and gave me a copy of the contract… It was 7pm so I’m not sure how much to trust him. But there’s a couple grand in depreciation baked in, so it should fingers crossed fund. Hopefully none of this verify R-Pin nonsense makes it’s way into the deal…
Yeah, that’s not a good look for FCA. Though with the troubles they’re in, I’m sure they’re trying to pinch any penny they can get their hands on. I shopped my JGC L around the Jeep dealerships in the area (was hoping to get rid of it before the Volvo), and one came back and said they’d eat the negative equity in it if I lease another Jeep from them. I was tempted, but then snapped back to reality of living with another non-luxury offering from CDJR and moved on with the Volvo.
