2025 Rivian R1S - Better Lease Deals Coming in November / December?

I’m hearing reports that some Rivian stores might be offering significant discounts to help lower the monthly payments for the R1S.

Has anyone been able to successfully negotiate with store managers to reduce the price? If so, how much were you able to save? Are there any special incentives or discounts that potential new customers should know about?

It seems like Rivian still needs to sell a lot of vehicles in November and December to meet their Q4 targets. With the pressure to hit those numbers, these next two months could be critical for the company. I also heard that Rivian’s financial backing, like the loan from Volkswagen, is structured over five years. At the same time, Volkswagen is reportedly facing financial challenges of its own.

I’m ready to purchase an R1S, but only if I can secure a really great deal. Despite the risks, I genuinely want to see Rivian succeed, as I believe they make some of the best EVs available.

When I got my SUV earlier this year I was able to get about 3500 in free rims/tires. I have heard of better deals, employee referrals, etc. If you hear anything I would like to hear about it as well.

I’m actually surprised a DTC business model would spend big money on GMs who generate/close deals. A good GM costs a pretty penny in cash and equity, because that’s what they would make at a legacy dealership.

Also, customer satisfaction in a haggle-free business model is tied to customers’ perception that the people buying immediately before or after them did not pay less.

Aren’t they producing 10k fewer cars due to a parts mistake? Surprised they would be discounting with so many fewer cars made.

Where and who did these reports come from? Like several others above, I’m not sure Rivian produces enough R1S to do another price drop in the same year.

Recently took a test drive in the R1T and the advisor mentioned stuff similar to above as an extra incentive to get someone over the line such as an Xpel wrap for example.

FWIW I did enjoy the R1T test drive last wknd and may see if anything pops up at Year End. I wouldn’t count on getting the price lowered from the salesperson or manager.

I was offered 2500 off as an inventive last month, but payment were still $1k if you don’t want to put a CCR. This was in socal.

About time… been waiting for this thread

Where in socal did you find that deal, was it LA?

Did you get this by talking with a Rivian Advisor?

Yes, talk to your advisor. Typically they will take off paint or wheel option. I would push for both.

yeah my advisor is the one that I asked… this was in Sept and they offered $2500 off

yes in LA

I’m talking with the Rivian Advisors about what they can cut from a “in stock” Rivian that is the 20225 Adventure package. They said that to cut the paint, wheels, etc. that they need manager approval. I also asked about Friends and Family discount, and they said that they were not aware of any promotion, and in fact that one is handled directly with your Rivian friend and not associated with the purchase.

I think that the question really comes down to the Residual and Money Factor (MF), does it not?

When I put in the base model with a few upgrades and get about a base price of 86,150 (with 0 down, 36 mos, 10k) it gives a monthly price of 1,117.

When I put this into the calculator, I cant hit that unless I make a few assumptions. There was a reddit thread where people were talking about an MF of 0.003, and a Residual around 74% Reddit, lol

I made this calculation

I think that whether or not this is a deal is if the MF and Residual is still low. This is getting close to their finance cost of the same vehicle (72 months, 10k down)

I’ll have to see what the actual lease terms are going to be, but the MF of 0.003 seems like a high APR? Any other MFs from October out there?
