Ford Credit lease transfer process
- You initiate the transfer
- Log into Ford Credit Account Manager.
- Go to Account Services → Transfer of Equity/Lease and follow the prompts.
- The new person applies
- The prospective lessee has to go through Ford Credit’s credit/qualification process.
- Ford Credit will determine whether they qualify to assume the lease.
- Ford Credit prepares the transfer documents
- If approved, Ford Credit provides the documents that need to be signed by you and the new lessee.
- The transfer isn’t complete merely because the new person is approved; the paperwork has to be finalized.
- The lease/account is transferred
- Once completed, the new lessee becomes responsible for the remaining lease obligations.
- Your existing account is updated to reflect the transfer. Ford specifically lists this as a self-service option for transferring the lease or finance contract to another person.
