Was that for a Sportage or a hybrid or plug-in hybrid? Its a good starting point, so I appreciate that. I know with it just hitting December, there may be adjustments in incentives, but in my area, generally, Tuscons ahve had stronger elasing options than Sportages. I have test drive a Tuscon but not a Sportage, although I assume they will be very similar.
25 Sportage phev
FYI I found an old 24 Tucson phev on the lot with $7000 incentive and negotiated another $3000 off
The 25 is different and would cost more
My local Hyundai lot has a 24 on there with like 7k miles, so assuming loaner/demo. But its a hybrid and not a plugin.
But I am assuming I may be able to get a killer deal on that?
7k might put it into used car mode, so it’s iffy
Okay, bumping this up. I’m really struggling, going backwards on what I am looking for. I thought it was down to these 2 models, but now I have several others in the mix.
Can I get input/opinions from you all? It would be greatly appreciated.
At this point, I still am focusing on hybrids, but these are the models I am looking at:
Sportage
Tuscon
Hornet R/T
Rav4
Camry
(Is there something else I should be considering?)
Ideally, I would like to do 0 down.
I would like to be ~300/month.
In the past, I’ve always done 3 year 36k miles but if there is a better set of options to help with costs, I would be open to it. I can’t do full EVs so thats out of the equation. Hybrid and Plug-ins are fine.
Thoughts?
Oh and Mazda CX50 hybrid!
Can you go full EV or no? You need to make up your mind on that first before anything else.
I used to charge at a 240V/dryer outlet in my old house and now that I’ve moved I’m charging at 110V/regular outlet for the time being and I thought it would be a relative nightmare but it hasn’t been a big deal.
Nothing beats the rav 4, unless you want it for $300 heh
Ya, I dont think I can. I live in an apartment. I have a detatched garage, BUT I dont have a 240 plug in there and I doubt the owners would upgrade for me.
I do have regular outlets in there though, but as you said, I had concerns about it keeping up with charging. So i had sort of walked awway from EVs because of the variable logistical issues.

i know everyone looks at me like a druggie when i lay my parameters out LOL
Do you mean $0 down as cap cost reduction or a $0 due as signing (“DAS”)? I don’t think any of those cars can be had for $300/mo effective. Maybe the Dodget Hornet PHEV at $300/mo, if you pay inception fees up front.
Ya, I had hoped to put 0 down. I guess if I had to pay for some fees upfront instead of rolling it all in, I could, but my last 2 leases I never had to.
300 a month seems unattainable in todays car world but ill be damned if I dont try lol
Pretty sure the hybrids of all of these lease terribly (except the Hornet which is the likeliest to be a
) and the gas savings would never compensate you for the higher payment. You can check Marketplace in a more heavily populated area such as NY/NJ/PA for yourself.
Ownership is different as the higher resale value IRL can bring down your net spend. But leasing a hybrid is often the worst of both worlds.
Gas Elantra is probably your best bet. Again, you can rule out a lot of cars by seeing their prices in the Marketplace in NJ/PA and come down to a very actionable and very short shortlist.
Ooof…really?? This sucks…lol So, it’s basically, straight combustion or EV, as far as deals go? Thats so sick…I don’t know that I am ready for an EV. It scares me…I don’t know why LOL
But I was hoping to move to something much more fuel economical. I had test driven a Camry, but theyre all hybrids and I assumed the incentives from Toyota would be slim if any. I’m honestly sort of crushed to hear this. I was excited to try a hybrid or plugin…
Kia and Hyundai give 3000-6000 on their hybrids and plug ins
You saw my deal on the 24 Tucson limited?
It’s a good deal for someone who can afford the one-pay. But the monthly payment on a conventional lease is $500+ and far above the OP’s budget.
Yes, I don’t recall it off the top of my head but I know you pointed out to me what deal you got from them.
I posted on Edmunds to get MF, RV and incentives. Kia, in my area is 0 lease incentives.
Last month, Hyundai was 1,000. I posted over there to get the new info, if any, for the month in hopes there were changes. Meanwhile, the maligned Hornet is 7k in my area. I get it. I get it. It’s probably a dumb idea on my part but wow…huge difference.
As far as lease deals go.
But buying a hybrid is, in many ways, a good idea, esp a Toyota-branded one b/c it probably will have resale value (assuming you don’t trash the car)…
