For those commenting, don’t forget this was a loaner. Will be hard to replicate either way, but search for retired loaner vehicles.
Also need to adjust the tax rate. The payment jumps about $200 per month if taxed at 9%
Appreciate that, and that’s what I figured. I have a target monthly in mind, but don’t feel like it’s a good strategy divulging that to a dealer. Discount/MF/Res would be most important. I have an idea of where those need to be to get to a monthly
A little different in Texas, plus one dealer all but waived the sales tax.
Congrats on a great price but personally, someone would have to pay me to drive one of these. Just not my cup of tea especially after reading this.
" I Leased a Hummer EV Because I Always Wanted an H2, Seven Months Later, It’s the Only Car Out of 80 I’ve Owned That Gives Me Anxiety Every Single Day | Torque News"

“I have never owned an EV before, so I thought I’d try my luck with this large SUV.”
“This means if you have to drive anywhere over 100 miles, you will have to stop and recharge.”
To each his own I guess but the above is not an objective assessment. I am getting 360 miles on a full charge in city and 300 on the highway and this my 8th EV in the last 10 years. I certainly don’t suffer from range anxiety.
It’s not to say the car is perfect. It has many serious flaws.
Reliability is a big concern. I read lots of reports of these cars being lemoned within few months of ownership.
It costs a lot of money to charge these equivalent to 50 mpg with TX gas prices. Horrible for an EV but still better than most gas cars.
This is a huge car. You can fathom the size until you drive one yourself. You have to be conscious of the size all the time while driving.
The car isn’t practical. It’s not for soccer moms. It’s a statement piece with ocassional light off-roading use cases IMO.
Overall I am happy so far after initial buyers remorse mainly owing to the size of the vehicle.
Expecting all the benefits of an EV by switching from gas vehicles to hummer EV is a bad idea in itself. The article should be seen as anecdotal instead of being the hard truth. It’s hard to argue against driving a $100k car for $385 a month. Again, to each his own.
I have a question about these one pay lease deals.
If this car gets totaled pulling out the dealers lot, don’t you get nothing from insurance? Serious question.
From my understanding, for GM financial leases, one-pay leases have gap insurance included and in the event of a total loss, the prorated one-pay amount is refunded.
That’s good info there. Thanks for that link.
I’m still trying to master leasing. I need to spend more time on this forum. I have an old car and things are gonna start to break but I need a cheap lease with very little down. Almost don’t care what car it is.
My son is starting an auto program at the local community college next fall. They have a GM program as one of their tracks and the instructor noted that there’s going to be a lot of demand for EV techs, that one of their recent graduates got a gig at the local GMC dealer pretty much exclusively replacing the batteries on Hummers under warranty. I still haven’t read up about it, so it sounds like GM is addressing it. As for the range, yeah, pushing a beast of that weight with a 246kWh battery is a little too rich for my blood lol. Still, I do like the look of it (did NOT care for the look of the old petrol-powered version).
Agreed. Like the looks of the EV, not so much the gas variant.
The battery on the SUV is around 180 KWh. Truck is around 210 kWh I think.
The instructors are as good as at predicting as the hookers predicting what diseases they contracted last night.
Could be true, but I didn’t disagree with him. The great EV collapse I believe has been greatly exaggerated. I live in a very anti-EV area (so to speak) and they’re popping up in driveways where I least expected them. Anecdotal, for sure, but it’s an indicator.
Thanks. I stand corrected. The 24 module Ultium is 246kWh, but only 212kWh usable.
That’s a heck of a buffer. Wonder if it’s used to hide degradation.
That’s more than an entire Nissan leaf gen 1 battery pack used as buffer. Used to lease one back in the day. How times have changed
Houston dealers are absurd. I have never been able to lease from one.
It’s interesting that you got $2k supplier for 2025. I thought it’s only for 2024s, where as 2025s get $1700.
It was $2000 in May. Must have changed recently.
Not a fan of the ice humvee but the ev version looks good. For that price, it will be hard for me not to take it eventhough the wife will definitely have a fit since it’ll be her commuting car
