2025 BMW x4 M40i (worth it?)

Dealer (CA) has an incoming 2025 X4 M40i looking to see if this is a good deal as this is a very new car (25’), every 24’ on the market I came across had similar numbers?

MSRP: $72,515
Discount: $5,815
Selling Price: $66,700

Residual Value at 55% - $39,883

Cash Down @ 6.5k

36 Months, 12k Miles — Monthly: $925
(rebates: $1000, corp)

MF @ .00230

Put a calc together and post link…cash down or cash due at signing? Put money into MSDs rather than true cash down. Leases aren’t great on these with low RV and higher MFs so look into financing or writing a check instead.

Any changes with the 2025 model?

Almost $40k over 3 years in payments to drive $67k BMW. Id pass.

Not worth it. There is an X5 listed here. Get that instead.

An X4 lease will never be a “deal.” They aren’t volume cars for BMW, so they don’t really incentivize them. X4 is a “pay to play” proposition. @AS123 is the X4 the only car you are considering?

From what I understand, not really. Just slight body changes.

lol I wish I liked the X5, love the X4/X6 bodies… so I get that I’m compromising a better “deal” for preference at this point.

Yeah, I really prefer the X4/X6 hatchback body but I don’t need a big car so I said no to the X6.
Super aware in my quest for this car that it’s a more rare model so they never truly incentivize the car/don’t have real deals.

I guess my actual question is if this is good for what we know about this particular model?

The only other car I’ve considered is the Range Rover Velar.

Velar would probably lease worse. Have you done a lease vs purchase comparison? Doesn’t BMW have 3.9% financing for 60 months now? Would it be better to just finance it?

Here is a recent post for a '24 in TX. Mind you, the tax situation is different in TX so look at the deal pre-tax to compare.

This is a bad deal, right?

That sheet is for “internal use only” because someone needs to take that paper and cram it where the sun doesn’t shine.

I wouldn’t even due that to my worst enemy

Is MVSP = MSRP? If so you are paying over MSRP for this with their add ons.

Also, if you are leasing save yourself thousands by learning how to come up with your own target lease payment either with a spreadsheet or the calc here.

There’s no dealer discount at all. You’d be a dumba$$ to pay that much for “Smartshield”

Where are you located? You’ve got CA, SoCal, and NorCal on your post.

This is one of the cases I’m interested to hear what @IAC or @IAC_Scott have to say.

BMW claims the $78,510 is the MSRP (it’s shown as MVSP in the bullcrap quote).

What makes no sense is a 2024 X4 M40i in Bk Grey, 21" Orbit wheels, mocha Vernasca contrast stitching, Carbon Fiber interior trim, DAPP, Park Assist, Premium Pack (with HUD), and Shadowline should only have a MSRP of about $75k.

They didn’t check the option box for ventilated seats, M-diff/brakes. This X4 is weak sauce.

So somehow BMW has accepted the reality this particular VIN has a $78k MSRP, but doesn’t disclose what extra crap is baked in. And of course neither BMW or the dealership offer an image of the Monroney.

If BMW-USA somehow allows the dealership to override MSRP on the BMW-USA website, I would be very very very disappointed. GM and other companies do allow dealerships to override pricing on as stated on the corporate inventory websites. But the delta off of the original MSRP is clearly stated.

it’s got some added crap such as Paint Protection Film Level 1 (which I guess is applied at the factory??) and Phone Charging Cables…

Oh ok, it has a bunch of port/dealer installed garbage. I guess it does have ventilated seats, that’s not shown on the BMW website on this VIN heh.

This is their only X4 on the ground, so they’re going to gouge the hell out of it and it’s in Brooklyn Grey so somebody in Ohio is going to pay out the nose for the current cool-color.

It also has Refrigerant!

Lol there are only like five X4 M40i’s on the ground in OH/IN… and the oldest unit is 30 days aged. As much as that quote you got was completely nasty, it’s unlikely any dealer near you is going to do a lease that won’t get you railroaded off this forum.
