Some wagonlover on LHer said “the line forms behind [him]” for the M5 wagon so you could probably just go find him in that line and ask him what the deal looks like.

Wagons aren’t the volume profit centers they should be in the states. All the practicality of a CUV in the handling and fuel economy of… well a sedan. Best of all worlds. Shame the only options we have are these 120k+ performance beasts.

I was offered an M5 touring at MSRP this week. Which I don’t think is anything noteworthy. General response with these is pretty lukewarm it seems. The sedans are lot anchors. Wagons will do better but still
Also is this the only plug in hybrid that has a gas guzzler tax?

I got one on order but I might walk away from it for E53 or keep both. M5 is nice but just feels so heavy. I ordered m5 wagon thinking I might be able to flip or break even after a few months but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen like RS6 Avant did. I think bmw too late in the game on it

Will they? End of day it’s still the same bloated platform and only so many people want wagons. And I think a majority of people would buy to drive for 6 mo and get rid of , rather than own the thing for 3-5+ years

Test drove the E53, it was actually really good. Nice to see since Merc has been murdering the AMG lineup. It starts at a reasonable msrp as well.
New M5 is not seeing the demand of a normal M launch, discounts on early units. The M5 died with the F90 chassis.

The wagons are available everywhere now, and yet the “If it comes here I will get it crowd” has yet to show up with one.
Same held true on Audizine, etc. for the RS6: all the talk was just talk.

Yup. Mercedes and Audi going to jump on it. I hope e63 comes out because e53 is great in all aspects, just missing the raw power from a 63

Them wagon boys cannot finance a chocolate bar so an rs6 or amg aint happening boss.
Wagonmania started back on Jalopnik, and volvo of all companies answered the call only to get stuck holding the bag with some of theirs.

According to captain slow of top gear fame, you no longer need to rent a refrigerator box. It is Dakar certified.
m5 wagon might be the closest thing to the 240s and the later 850s in BTCCs
